This is an excellent means of having clean filtered water - the filters last about five to six months depending upon usage, and it's easy to change.
Only issue I've found is the green indicator does not always turn yellow when it should - after SIX months is when I usually notice the water not as tasty but the light's still green -- not a huge issue as the filter is rated for six months.

It is a great product. It is easy to install and you can tell that it is working because the water tastes so good after you install it. The only drawback is the fact that you do have to change it every six months but once you do change it, it is worth it.

It's a good product, but not perfect. We prefer the taste from our Brita pitcher, and the convenience of having water ready to pour from the pitcher. The water filter, however, takes more bad stuff out of the water. It does so quickly enough that you can get a glass of water pretty quickly, but I wouldn't want to rely on it for making a soup--I'd be standing there for quite a while.

Def makes water and ice tastes great. I use the water from the frig to make my coffee and there is a discernible difference than from tap. EASIEST filter change out I have ever used. If you can open and shut a drawer you can change this filter.

I replaced my original water filter that was almost 2 years old [...] There wasn't anything wrong with the old filter (the water tasted fine), I just replaced it because it was pretty old. (Frigidaire recommends replacing the filter at least every 6 months). The new filter initially seemed to be okay but the taste kept getting worse until it's now at the point that regular tap water tastes much better. Water coming out of the refrigerator has a mild sulfur taste that isn't in the tap water (we are on city water).

Since this filter not only filters our water, but also our ice and we live in the desert, clean, good tasting water is important. OEM plug-in replacement for fridge filter. Needs replacing every 9-12 months. The first few glasses of water taste soda-water-ish (even after running it for the requisite few minutes). At $[...] a pop it does not seem that cheap, but when you run the numbers it is a LOT cheaper - and a heck of a lot more convenient - than buying gallons of drinking water and having to carry them home.Seems a shame to throw the old one away; I wish that the manufacturer had a way to recycle them...

I bought these in bulk and find they last less than three months before there is a dramatic loss in water pressure through them. I even had two that did not have good flow when new. We use 1/3 to a rare 3/4 gallons a day and this is rated at 6-9 months or 400 gallons. We don't get half of that rating. Perhaps our city water is that bad and it is good that the filter works, but sometimes the filter does not look very dirty even as flow slows. Also very expensive when replacing this often.

Everything worked out OK with the installation. Only thing to note is that it looked like Frigidaire changed the construction. The new one is glued together instead of screwed together with a gasket seal. As a result, there were what looked like pieces of flaky plastic loose inside. Hopefully these get trapped by the filter media.

I let the original filter "run out" meaning the LED indicated to change it. I didn't think it mattered till the water started to taste like the copper tubing or basically straight from the tap. [...] I bought two and the taste is definitely improved. Unlike my old refrigerators which you either had to unscrew the filter from the back of the unit or all the way back on the interior. This pops in and out in the front section of the interior. It took me longer to open the package, than to install it.
