Only problem is in the design of the refrigerator. This old man has difficulty replacing the old filter with the new filter as it is at the bottom of the frig and I have to lay on the floor to accomplish.

This is the filter my refrigerator requires. I particularly like the taste free ice it produces. It is certainly easy to remove and install, but it is a pain to have to flush two gallons of water through it when first installed. If you don't, you will be sorry with the initial taste.

Faucet water isn't chlorinated very much, but I don't like ANY chlorine taste. Use the filter in my refrigerator and there is no chlorine taste at all. I'm surprised there is none. Great filter.

The product works as expected.Also I had to move the frig to get to the water supply value to turn it off before installing. Otherwise you get water all over the place. [...] should have a convenient shut off in the fron of the frig.

I wish the refrigerator/filter cartridge was equipped to indicate time to replace based on usage, and not by date of installation. I don't use my water or ice very often so I'm sure the filter is actually good for several weeks beyond the time I'm alerted to replace it. They are also very expensive and I wish I had known this before purchasing the refrigerator.
ABT has the best price on the web for this product and delivers very quickly. I'm very satisfied with their prices and service. Please don't raise the price now!

The cons of it are that it lasts a bit less than six months.

Only issue I have is that it is a little expensive for the amount of use you can get out of it. It does last 6-months, IF you are not a big water drinker/user. Otherwise, you have to change it every 3-4 months and that can get expensive.

I wish I knew if once you insert the filter if you can take it out and replace the cap and the life span of it NOT be affected. I took out the old one to test the new one. The old one still had life but I was afraid to let the new one sit out since I had put it in, I was afraid I would shorten its lifespan if I did not go ahead and use it right then.

This filter provides great tasting water with good flow rate. It got rid of all the chlorine smell/taste in our tap water. However, it is only good for 200 gallons according to the manufacturer. That is about 4-6 months for usage by the two people in my home.

This product is easy to use and does it's job. We get quality water and only takes about 2 minutes to change the filter. Last a year for us. We set up a routine to change every fall along with batteries in smoke detectors, alarm clock back-ups, weather radios, etc. Change every fall when we change clocks. Probably would last longer with only 2 adults, but just to quick and easy to change to worry about trying to stretch it.
Customer service, communication, and delivery were excellent. Fast, friendly, and the price was right!

No major issues with this filter - does a good job improving the taste of our tap water in Raleigh, NC. I wish it would last a little longer (~4 months), but other than that, it does a fine job.

Good substitute filter for the more expensive Kenmore brand, which is about $50. This filter worked well. Water tasted better and was clearer. The only drawback was that the refrigerator's "replace filter" light turned on within 2 weeks after this particular filter was put in. Don't know if this was a defective one or not. I still left it in because it was only two weeks old. (The filter is usually only to be replaced about every 6 months, unless you filter a lot of water - but I think mine is within normal use.) I bought another one, so I will see if that one does the same thing. Other than that, everything else with it is great - still seems to be working fine. Water still tastes good & is clear.

Doesn't filter out floride which is supposedly a good thing.
Usually needs to be replaced on 6 month intervals.
