Purchased to use in my office to keep beverages and lunch. Have had this refrigerator for 3 weeks, pleased with how quiet it operates (don't even know it is there), it has done a good job keeping beverages and my lunch cold daily.

With the wire shelf placed in it's highest position - the refrigerator is large enough to keep 15 bottles of water (16.9 oz bottles) on the bottom shelf, with approx 3 1/2 inches (high) of room on the top shelf to place additional items (ie: sandwiches and fruit). To give additional reference: the wire shelf is approx. 7 1/4 inches deep by 13 inches wide)

I haven't experienced any issues with the refrigerator maintaining my beverages/food items at a cold temp (my office is heated and air conditioned). I currently have the temp set at medium-high.

This fridge definately met my expectations. Good if looking to use in office setting. I find that it especially good for beverages but can also keep food cool, just do not leave in there too long.

The Avanti appealed to me because it was compact, all fridge and used a cooling technology that didn't use coolant. One important thing to know about this alternative cooling technology is that it is limited to cooling to about 30 degrees below the ambient temperature (this is stated in the booklet that came with it). Food safety guidelines recommend keeping your fridge at 40 degrees to prevent spoilage. That would mean an ambient temp of 70. I live in AZ, so running the AC to cool my office to 70 would be insane. I placed a fridge thermometer inside, and it hovers about 50 degrees. I have stored milk and it seems to do OK since I use it up in less than a week, but I am always worried about spoiling. This is a good fridge if you want to keep sodas or other shelf stable beverages chilled or will operate it in a cooler environment, but I wouldn't recommend it for regular food storage.

The shelf does not allow smaller bottles such as water bottles to stand firmly. Smaller, upright bottles also fall out of the lower door compartment.

Service & Delivery comments:

The delivery was prompt. However, the top right back corner was badly bent and the enamel was cracked and chipped. I e-mailed photos to ABT w/comments about shipment having been dropped. I was fairly satisfied w/the response. The fridge seems to be working ok inspite of the tumble it took. Therefore, I did not want to go to the trouble of exchanging it. So far so good...knock on wood.

The lunchroom at my business is a significant walk from my office. Additionally, food and drink mysteriously continue to disappear from the "community" fridge. I now have my drinks, goodies, brown bag within an arm's reach yet out of sight to others. The motor is extremely quiet.

Rather well I might add...Light weight, easly movable, door closes securely, attractively Priced. BUT it's not cold enough, even on high settings. Soda, dairies, meats, however, do chill ok.

This is not a bad little 'fridge for the price. My only gripe is my cube 'fridge that it replaced is a lot colder than this one and had a freezer unit inside. I have the temp set on maximum coldness and it's okay for sodas, but sometimes I want ice cold sodas.
