Comments about Yamaha Yamaha Black Digital Sound Projector:
I replaced my Def Tech 6 speaker system with this because my wife was complaining about the sound levels and the new puppy was howling (maybe I like it a little loud). My room is off center and not perfect for the beams to properly locate. I have tried the manuel setup without much improvement over the wide selection the unit offers. I have found the bass to be punchy and tight, mated well with the sound bar. The sound on some TV programs or movies with a good sound track, makes you want to move to where the imaginary speaker is located. It is a sound bar and not meant to replicate a true surround system, but it is, to my ear, the best one under a grand out there. I am really satisfied with this purchase. ABT is great..

I was intrigued by the surround sound feature without having to put speakers around the room. Unfortunately, it did not work in my room. The system has great sound, but I only heard it from the front speaker. It could be that my great room only has one side wall and the sound didn't have anything to bounce off of. I would not recommend this for a room that has an open floor plan. The surround may work in a closed room, but I was not able to test that out.

certainly better than TV speakers, but over priced for what you get. Need perfectly square room for best effects.
