I used to take out trash once, and sometimes twice a day. With this trash compactor, my trips to the outside dumpster has gone down to once a week. That's seven days of trash and I can still put more in it. This is an amazing product. Very powerful. The only thing that I don't like, it's a little loud, but it's ok, since 2200 pounds of pressure are compacting trash, I can live with it. Besides, the noise is not for a long time, since it compact the trash in about 10 seconds. So, I don't worry about it. Over all, this is a must for house owner. I wish I purchase this item sooner.

I use my compactor mostly to crush cans with. It's not nearly as powerful as my Kitchen Aid compactor was. Of course it wasn't as expensive either. I guess you get what you pay for. I have to crush three or four times with this one before it smashes them.

Takes up very little space. I am happy. My wife and daughter don't use it but that is OK. I don't put stinky or wet food in it, only plastic bottles and crushable items. Saves me at least one garbage can per week at the curb.
