its not durable, it breaks alot. the cord gets in the way too much. the ipod is hard to hook up to it, and alot of the time it doesnt charge it. it doesn't stay on the dock. i looovvee the sterio i got with it but this part makes it look simply stupid because it does not work right. i got it with the sterio but i only use my ipod for the sterio and this breaking means i wasted [$] of my savings on something i thought would last. i thought sony made better products than this. im very disappointed...now this product is not available to me and they make no other options for my sterio. so i must go buy a new one. thanks sony... -.-

This beats using a TRS to RCA stereo. Plus, I can use my Sony remote to control the iPod. Unfortunately, the songs are not displayed on the TV, but I already knew that this model did not support video.

Very easy to set up and use. Overall, a good value for the money. My one complaint is that when I use the plastic dock insert specified for my Nano, I need to ensure that the iPod is situated exactly right. If not, the device won't work.

Despite the info provided on ABT's web listing, this model (TDM-i10) does not support video output. Of course, I did not learn this until plugging it in and reading the manual.
It does interface with Sony receivers via the DM port, so it preserves the digital quality of the sound and you can use the receiver's remote. But if you want video output, stick with your old analog iPod cradle that has the standard def (composite, S-video) output.

I would not reccomend this product at all. In reading the specs on the Sony website and speaking toa Sony rep [...] I thought I would be able to get both audio and video using this device with my Sony equipment. No such luck. At this time Sony does not even offer a product that will do this so what is the point of the DMPort?! You are better off buying an after market device and connecting to the composite inputs on your equipment. A weak solution to say the least.

Extremely easy to operate an IPOD once it is connected throught a Sony device like my Sony Soundbar. Also looks great simple design.

This product was exactly what I was looking for. Now, I can have guests bring their own music (via Ipod) w/o having to bring CD's, etc...
Comments about Sony Sony Digital Media Port iPod Cradle:
Simply plug in the Digital Media Port, dock your iPod, set the receiver to DMIMPORT, and select a playlist - you'll have tunes to relax by, work by, or party by. It could use additional dock inserts for past and newest iPod Nanos. None of the ones supplied fit either my 1st generation or last generation Nanos...
Lightning fast order processing (1 day) and shipping (2 days) had my Sony Digital Media Docks (Yes, two of them. One for my system upstairs and one downstairs for maximum flexibility) in my hands in three days.
