I use this recorder to record and watch 10-14 TV
shows a week. These recorders replaced two Sony Recorders that were big disappointments. The ease
of setup and operation are fantastic.

MECHANICALLY, WORKS GREAT,GREAT PICTURE QUALITY.
SETUP INST. FOR HDMI HOOKUP ARE MISSING SOMETHING.
INSTRUCTION MANUAL IS VERY POORLY WORDED. CONFUSING. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS UNIT BUT USER MAY NEED SOME HELP WITH SETUP AND OPERATING STEPS.

THE FORMAT IS CONFUSING-THE SETUP INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT ACCURATE[THEY LEAVE OUT IMPORTANT BITS OF INFO]. I'M DOING BETTER SETTING IT UP WITHOUT THE BOOK. I'M SURE IT WILL BE FINE ONCE I START USING IT.

This unit makes great recordings, has lots of functions and flexibility, yet easy to use out of the box. I wish it could record digital formats other than through the camcorder/dv input, but that is a common shortcoming. Other than that, I highly recommend this product. Note: Be sure you do not need a tuner, as this unit does not have one. Generally, if you have a cable box, you do not need one.

the only negatives about this recorder is that you cannot open and close with the remote, even cheaper models you are able to open instead of pushing the buttons at the top of the unit
