I have a problem with the remote and my Sony A/V receiver. I cannot control the TiVo volume with the remote and occasionally there has been no sound. Other than that I highly recommend the TiVo. It is especially easy to program using the box or your computer.

The Tivo Series 3 is great. Replaces you cable box and give 30 hours of HD recording with the fabulous Tivo features, I use it to Record Shows, play music from my PC, view Photo's from my PC, download movies [@]etc.

[...]It works perfectly. Setting up was no problem at all. I have used dial-in and wireless connections without problems. I have also been able to set-up shows to be recorded when I was not at home by using the TIVO internet site.TIVO is far superior to using the Comcast DVR. For example, it auto-rewinds just a bit when you have fast-forwarded over ads. It saves thrown away items just in case you really did not mean to delete them. Finding desired shows is 10x faster than using Comcast's crude interface.

Although very expensive, this is one great product. Highly recommended.
My wife is among the "seriously technically challenged" and she loves this TiVo. Easy to use, very responsive, excellent features, reliable, and a marriage saver. Note: She made me toss the Comcast DVR within 48 hours!
An added (and unexpected benefit) -- I was able to eliminate all remotes for the one TiVo remote (well almost, it won't turn on and off the YSP1100SL since I opted to have it turn on and off the TV and it won't adjust any of the YSP1100SL sound options... only volume up and down which is most of what we need).
Since this uses CableCard, there is no option for Pay Per View or On Demand from Comcast unless I was willing to add a cable box in front of the TiVo (but I didn't want those options anyway). In my humble opinion, that would defeat some of the ease and elegance of this TiVo3.
What I'm most disappointed about is the lack of TiVo Transfer, TiVo To Go, and transfer of recordings between this TiVo3 and my TiVo2. I understand this is a licensing issue due to the Hi-Def replication recordings.
Hooked up: TH42PX500U, YSP1100SL, DVPNC85HB, TiVo3, 3 Port HDMI switch from Octava, and one very old VCR.
Another note: When a CableCard fails, Comcast blames the TiVo and recommends their Comcast DVR... what else is new. Once you finally convince them to try another card, all works well.

Finaly - a true TiVo that can record HD from Cable. Too bad the cable guys aren't too good at setting up the 2 cable cards required to get it going.

My cable company DVR was so horrible and unusable, I couldn't take it anymore. I've always loved TiVo when I had it with satellite and analog cable, and I noticed this had just come out, so I decided to bite the bullet and get this for my 50" 1080p HD plasma. After some problems with getting my cable company to give me a couple of CableCards and some provisioning issues on their part, everything is great. The TiVo looks great, the interface is super-easy to use and comes up real fast. I'm really happy with it. I only wished it would allow me to burn DVDs from it on my Mac.

The picture quality on the Tivo Series 3 HD is much better than what get from the Scientific Atlanta Box my cable company supplied.
Time Warner charged me $25 to come install the cable cards - I wish they allowed users to do this.
The Series 3 HD is missing the ability to transfer recording to and from other Tivo boxes. A feature I love on my 2 Series 2 units. Hopefully they will add this feature. In the near future.

I am a first time Tivo user. I found the Tivo Version 3 very easy to install. Even though you pay a premium price for this DVR, it is very well made and I was impressed with the quality of the unit, the remote and the Tivo software.
The HD recordings look great, although you can only record up to 32 hours in HD (wish there was more). Two thumbs up from me!

DirectTV stopped using the Tivo-based DVR for HD so I purchased this unit and connected to COMCAST.
It is my preferred DVR.

Great execpt for the transfer of a lifetime Tivo subscription. I thought I could make the change and transfer my lifetime subscription, but I had a DirecTV Tivo before and they won't transfer the lifetime subscription to this reciever. I had to buy a new subscription that only runs for three years.

I've owned a S2 Tivo for several years but haven't used it much since getting a digital cable and HD content via a Comcast STB. I am so happy to finally be able to record digital content via a Tivo device. I've had very few problems. The only one worth mentioning is occasional partial recordings--a problem seen by some other users and hopefully fixable via a software update by Tivo support, eventually.
