One slight con for me is the performance of the "zoom mic" feature. It does in fact amplify sound from whatever you're zoomed in on, but when you zoom back out, it cuts the entire volume down. I experienced this in shooting a jazz band concert.

This item is well worth it. I have talked with various retailers about the Hard Disk Camcorders and almost all of them recommend Sony products. I made the purchase simply for the camcorder and digital still 4.0 MP camera (one stop shoot). Do yourself a favor and spend the money on the larger hard drives because video takes up a ton of space.
