Comments about Panasonic Panasonic HDC-TM700K Black 32GB Full HD Camcorder:
I am very happy with the new TM700!
Pros: The picture quality is fantastic! The camera packs a lot of punch in such a small package, such as the 1080P video, the 14.2 Mega pixel stills, surround sound mics, 35 mm Wide lens, 12 times optical zoom, with a very good enhanced zoom (better than my eyes can see for distance and I am 20/20), time lapse feature (neat function), the instant on capability (don't miss exciting events), decent in low light, up close shooting in Macro mode, easy to switch between play mode, video mode or still picture mode and overall easy to use, an automatic lens cover when turned off. The camera is small and light weight. The 3" LCD size is preferred over the smaller 2.7" and 2.5" LCDs I've seen on other camcorders, including some of Panasonic's earlier models. The touch screen buttons on this one are effectively responsive to me.
I would purchase this camera over any other consumer camcorder right now.
Cons: It does not have a infrared for low light situations, like my Sony TRV 240 has, but maybe that is proprietary to Sony. Also maybe the Sony was a tad better in low light, but if so, not by much. I know the Sony is old, but it is the only one I have to compare to.

Comments about Panasonic Panasonic HDC-TM700K Black 32GB Full HD Camcorder:
Great video, and features. The camera was advertised correctly. That being said this is my disappointments.1. I bought the camera because I thought it had no transport system or moving parts to create noise on the soundtrack. In pictures I thought the grid on the side of the camera was a nice big speaker. To my disappointment it's a fan, and yes, You can hear it on the sound track. There is probably a choice in the manual mike settings that might help with this issue, but I haven't experimented yet.2. You have to unplug the battery to use the external power supply. On my last camcorder you could charge the battery in the camera.3. The software that comes with the camera for playback and saving is a must use in most cases, but could use some updating to make it's editing and file saving formats a little more flexibility. But never the less the software is very useful. Don't let these comments disappoint you to much. The TM700 is the best camera I've used to date. The stabilization is terrific as well as the video quality. I would estimate the 30x zoom to have nearly the quality of a standard resolution camera, and the 18x setting remarkable. I never thought I would have a use for still pictures taken from a video camera, but I find these to be acceptable. Oh and if you like to play with settings this camera is a dream come true. The Time Laps feature is an absolute ball. I think it's impossible for a manufacturer to produce a product that will satisfy everyone. Over all I would recommend this camera to anyone interested. Think separate Camera Mike if you are a nature video photographer. PS. Attached is a video from the HX1920 setting which is one of the lower video resolution settings. The clip was converted to 1280 x 720 using a video converter and edited with a popular software. The output from there was MP4 and uploaded to YouTube. I hope the link works.John H (DadHav)
This is the first time I purchased here but will return. The sales help was extraordinary and delivery very prompt. The product speaks for itself. Good going Abt. It was a pleasure.

Comments about Panasonic Panasonic HDC-TM700K Black 32GB Full HD Camcorder:
While this camcorder can do it all, finding all of those features can be a challenge with different menus for auto and manual video as well as auto and manual still settings.
I am no novice but it took me a few days to figure out all the various menu options. Once you are over that learning curve hump, one can't help but be impressed how much potential is packaged in such a compact frame. I found the picture quality excellent both the video and still shots.
