Comments about Sony Sony Black High Definition Handycam Camcorder:

For under $2000 you cannot get better than this in a non-linear (tape based) HD camcorder (Sony also makes great HDD camcorders). The FX7 rocks, It's light, easy to use and best for weddings and other apps like this. Only semi-pro cam better than this is the HDR-FX1000.

Comments about Sony Sony Black High Definition Handycam Camcorder:

Use the product in producing videos of church programs for local Cable TV. Also shoot some educational documentaries for use at a University where I teach.

The Video quality was good. HD was excellent but not applicable in my circumstances - went with 16:9 DV instead.

Worked for less than 10 hours of shooting and capturing to Final Cut. Developed video noise - large horizontal bars across video. When I reset the camera got nothing but blue screen when attempting to record.

The hassle of having to send the unit to Texas for repairs after less than one month of use will, no doubt, color my perception of the product. The small amount of time that I was able to use it I did like it and felt the output and final results were very good. We'll see once I get it back if it is rigorous or cheaply made.

Service & Delivery comments:

This was my first experience buying from Abt. The service was excellent, the delivery was on-time, the product arrived in good condition and I will probably use Abt for my video needs in the future.
