Breadmakers
Bread machines allow virtually anyone to bake bread within minutes. It
allows you to put the ingredients, turn it on and leave the machine to
do all the hard work. Although, they all produce a good loaf, each machine
differs in the amount of extra features that they offer. Loaves won't
be any cheaper then those that you buy in regular stores, but they will
be completely controlled by you.
Most bread machines will allow you to make three loaf sizes: 1lb, 1 1/2lb
and 2lb. The size that you choose will depend on the number of people
you're planning to bake for.
Another thing that bread machines have are pre-programmed cycles. Pre-programmed
cycles allow you to make many different types of bread products. The nice
feature that more expensive models have is the user-programmable cycle.
This feature will allow the more experienced baker to program his/her
own recipes.
If you are big in making dough, you should look for the bread machines
that have dough cycle. It's quicker and less messy than doing it by hand.
Manual stop, delayed start time, add-ingredients signal and the viewing
window are options that every machine has and probably good features that
you would want to have when looking for a good breadmaker.
Considerations for all small appliances:
- Determine your cooking needs and wants - both current and future.
Is your family growing or growing up and moving out? Are you interested
in increasing your culinary endeavors? Are you wishing to simplify and
reduce time in the kitchen?
- Evaluate your kitchen counter space. Where are you going to put all
those new small appliances?
- Check the height of the appliance compared to the height of your
cabinets.
Appliances that mount under the cabinet are available.
- Decide on the color of your new small appliance.
- Determine the appliance capacity. The number of speeds and settings
on an appliance usually increases with the size of the machine. Those
who have large families or like to entertain may choose to buy larger
appliances.
- Decide whether you want corded or cordless appliances.
