Bears Fans Who Can't Get Tickets Buy Televisions(CBS) CHICAGO Bears fans are gearing up for the big game Sunday, and, fans hope, beyond. Lifelong Bears fan Steven Lutzs band composed a musical Bears cry. But Wednesday night, Lutz really had something to sing about, reports Dana Kozlov with CBS affiliate WBBM-TV in Chicago. "I jumped up and down and went 'Wooooo!' said an excited Lutz. The letter that made Lutz jump around informed the season ticket holder that if the Bears win on Sunday, he has the option to buy two Super Bowl tickets - at $650 each. "I cannot wait. Go Bears! It's once in a lifetime, Lutz said. Chicago medic Bill Sckalias was just as excited to pick up his single ticket for this weekend's divisional championship game at ticket broker Stub Hub's North Side office for a little less than $500. "I wasn't gonna go over 600, Sckalias said. "Its now the third highest selling event in Stub Hub's history, said Craig Cucinella of the ticket broker company. And then there is everyone else who can't afford a ticket to Sundays game. All of them will be forced to watch it on their recliner or couch. Apparently, that's caused a lot of fans to rush out and buy new television
sets. "I was at the Bear game last week and I have four people come up to me and say, 'Hey I really need a TV. If you can get it installed before the game, I'll do it. If not, I can't,' Abt said. When it comes to the Bears, can't doesn't seem to be in any fans vocabulary. (© MMVII, CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.) |
