Abt warranties are an important part of every purchase. They will protect your appliance or electronic after the manufacturers warranty is long gone. Ideally, nothing will ever go wrong with your purchase, but that’s not always the case. Many times you will run into difficulty and not want to be faced with the cost of a service call.
After speaking with Steve P., an internet sales specialist, he let me know that the warranty for many products costs less than a service call. It pays to have the warranty because parts can be expensive. When you have the Abt warranty, you will not have to incur the extra cost for parts if they become necessary.
Rafael P., another internet sales specialist conveyed that it’s always reassuring to have the “peace of mind” that the warranty brings. Knowing that many people don’t have the extra money that they used to due to the country’s economic condition, paying for service is one less thing to worry about.
Any of the internet sales, phone sales, or in-store sales specialists can guide you through the warranty buying process. A great benefit to the Abt warranty is that you will never have to manage paperwork. Both Abt and the warranty company keep detailed records of your purchase and warranty; eliminating the fear of losing valuable paperwork. Call or come in and speak with someone about an Abt warranty for your next purchase.

The Sonos S5 Zone player has arrived. This is a really cool innovation from Sonos. It’s a wireless, one-piece speaker system that works with an iPhone or iPod Touch. Unlike most docking stations, the S5 doesn’t require the iPhone or iPod Touch to be docked in the unit itself.
Sonos took speaker systems to another level with the S5. Controlling the S5 is done from your iPhone or iPod Touch using a downloadable, free app. Set-up is a breeze; all you have to do is search for the new speaker on your iPhone or iPod Touch, press two buttons on the S5, and you are ready to go. By having multiple S5 speaker systems you can play different songs in different rooms or using party mode—play the same song in different rooms.
The S5 gives you the freedom of keeping your iPhone or iPod Touch with you instead of docking it. You can browse through 25,000 free internet stations, millions of songs streaming on the internet, or your entire iTunes library—not just what is stored on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Also, if you receive a text or incoming call while music is playing, it won’t interrupt the music.

This Halloween, all of Abt employees wanted to have a little fun… So, they dressed for the occasion. From little red riding hood to a magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat, everyone was so creative.

There was fun for people of all ages—especially our younger friends that came in to trick-or-treat. Kids that joined in the Halloween fun got to go on hayrides, do a few crafts, and play some Halloween inspired games.

Keep an eye out for the next Kid’s activity at Abt.

Bang & Olufsen moved to a new home in the Abt showroom. For the convenience of Abt customers, it’s being moved into the home theater department in the front of the store. Mark Sasicki, a manager and buyer at Abt, is excited about the move.
The new Bang & Olufsen store has the full line of audio, video, and communications products on display. Chirag Shah, a sales expert on the B&O line, was telling me that one of the new products in the store, the BeoTime alarm clock is more than just an alarm clock. It’s touch screen and functions as a remote control for any other B&O products in the room. The BeoTime doesn’t look like an average remote—it looks just like a flute.
Another new product by B&O is the BeoCom 5. It is a 2-line speaker phone with mobility. This new addition to the B&O communications line allows the user to take the speaker away from where it’s docked and move about the home or office.
Coming soon to the B&O store… A 55” LED TV by the beginning of the year. Come see the new B&O store during the Customer Appreciation Sale for its grand re-opening!

Abt floors are paced by hundreds of thousands of feet each year. To keep our carpet looking good, we replace it two to three times annually.
To re-carpet the non-marble floors in the showroom it takes 2600 yards of carpet, 30 installers, 25 Abt employees, and eight and a half hours. Thanks to Lewis Carpet and working through the night, we were ready for our customers when the store opened. The 55 person crew worked from 9:30pm Wednesday until 6am Thursday moving displays, carpeting, and putting the store back together.
The store looks great and the smell of new carpet is in the air.

Will Motorola’s new Droid be the future of smart phones? Available for pre-order now, the $199 Droid has some features that other smart phones don’t have.
Voice activated search is the stand-out characteristic this phone has that others don’t. How does it work? By using the voice-activated search, users will be able to say something like grocery store into the phone and it will immediately create a list of grocery stores in the area—with turn-by-turn and spoken directions.
Will the Droid give iPhone a run for its money, according to the executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon, no. The Droid is looked at as more of an alternative to the iPhone—not a replacement.
Motorola boasts a richer web, sharper photos, and a DVD-quality recorder. It’s got the thinnest QWERTY sliding keyboard on the market and super-fast 3G speed for quicker searches.
Will you see the Droid at Abt? Come in or check out our selections of cell phones.

Monday, Sony announced NetFlix will be available on the PS3 game console starting in November. XBox 360, rival to the PS3, already allowed users to access NetFlix—subscription only for $50 per year.
The PS3 will be able to stream movies and programming from the NetFlix online library at no charge as long as you are a NetFlix subscriber.
Temporarily, users will need to access NetFlix with a special Blu-ray disc, eventually just getting downloadable updates from the internet.
