I've been a long time Dyson fan and have purchased the Hot/Cool as well in the past. When the package first arrived, I was surprised at how big it was but upon opening, I saw that it was a slim and very sleek looking unit. While I didn't test out the Wi-Fi and app features of the air purifier due to my husband's reluctance of letting another device on our network, I have tested out the basic functionality of the air purifier for the past two-three weeks. I loved that it monitors the quality of the air. I do wish I was able to access the Wi-Fi data, but like that it sensed when it needed to filter air on a higher setting on its own. We currently have several of a competitors' purifier and while my husband seems to think that the competitors' is quiet, I prefer the sound of the Dyson. We did notice though that when we wanted to use the purifier to get rid of the smell of smoke coming from our neighbor's fireplace, it stopped running on high even though I could clearly still smell the smoke. This makes me wonder how sensitive the air quality sensor is, but when we manually ran it on a higher setting, it continued to filter out the smell of smoke. Because of that, I took off one star for an otherwise good air purifier. Our other air purifiers do not have a remote and don't have the auto sensor to detect the air quality. Those two features were an unexpected bonus on this air purifier. Installation and

First, I would have given this product 3.5 stars, but there is no 1/2-star option. :) I'm a huge Dyson fan having had my original Dyson vacuum for nearly 15 years now. I've replaced a few parts and am only now having to probably replace the whole unit due to wear and tare. But I definitely got my money's worth. I recently purchased the cordless vacuum and it has been amazing for daily quick pick-ups around the house on various floor and upholstered surfaces. So of course I was super excited to try out the new Pure Cool Link Tower, which we have had nearly 3 weeks now. It arrived in typical Dyson fashion -- sooner than expected, and in minimal, efficient packaging. It was super easy to unpack and it was set up and turned on within 5 minutes of removing it from the box. We wanted to try this out in our living room, which has two-story vaulted ceilings, and no ceiling fan (we're renting, so we won't install one). We set it up in one corner and have it facing diagonally across the room. This room is not a pefect square/rectangle,so we chose the spot where it would have the longest distance across the room. If the fan is turned up past 6 (power settings 1-10), I can feel the breeze all the way across the room, at least 20 feet away. The fan is much quieter than typical bladed fans, especially on it's lower speed settings. It will create more noise on the higher speeds. We have a fairly large room, and if we have the fan turned up all the way to its highest speed, we have to turn up the TV volume, too. Its modern, sleek design and neutral tone help it to blend in to our decor. A handy remote lets us adjust the fan speed, oscillation, and power from across the room, and it's perfect for my sports-watching boyfriend who can just point and cool. I love that you can feel the fan from across the room and that it keeps our air circulating. The big excitement for me was the addition of the air filter. It's nice that it's all part of the slimline design. I also love that there are no blades to clean! If any dust settles on the unit, i just wipe it with microfiber cloth and it's all set. We have a traditional tower fan in our bedroom that we love, but you can't even open it wipe the blades off. Twice a year, I have to sit there sliding cotton swabs through the tiny slats to clean them off. There is a unique feature where you can download a Dyson Link app and get more information about how your air quality is affected by the air filter. However, I have not been able to get the app to work on my Samsung Galaxy 5. We just haven't had time to try with another device yet, so I'll update that info once we have a chance to see the full features. We have an air purifier in another room in our home, and I can say that when I bought that one (from another manufacturer), that I immediately noticed a difference in the air quality in that room, especially with dust and dander (having 2 long-haired cats) and seasonal allergies. With the Dyson air filter, I don't know exactly what it's supposed to be removing from the air, other than dust and VOCs. It would be great if there was more detailed information on what to expect to be removed from the air. Maybe the app gives more information on this. It would be great if someone else could comment until I have a chance to test out the app fully. But I haven't noticed a difference in the amount of dust or allergy symptoms from using the Dyson Pure Cool Link Tower. In all fairness, our living room is on the large size and with the high ceilings, it may be too many cubic feet for the air filter to handle. Our other air purifier is in our bedroom, which is much smaller. It would be great to know the optimum size room for this size unit. While the fan works great, I don't feel like it "cools" the room. We live inland in Southern California and have had some warm days and evenings already (and it's only April). I was hoping by leaving the fan on all day that it would help keep our living room a bit cooler during the day. I like having the air circulating, but I don't feel like I come home to a cooler house. I do think it might work better for actual cooling in a smaller room. We haven't tried it in our bedroom, but we put it in our guestroom for an an overnight guest who usually likes having the window open, and she found it to be quite refreshing and quiet, without having the window open, since the pollen count was high that day. So, overall, I love the design of the fan but wish I could notice more benefit from the air purifier. I love that machine will tell me when it's time to replace the filter! And I love that you can run this machine all the time, or set a time for shut off. Please check back for an updated review, but overall I feel like it's kind of pricey for just a fan, unless you have the money and are more into design. If the air filter was more powerful, I could justify the price. I just feel like I got a better air purifier that removes so much more from the air (and it has a fan output) for about the same price, maybe a little more. So it just depends what's important to you.

Loving this so far
Great modern design.
I bought this for my son to use when he visits. He has asthma and this has made a big difference for him in the quality of the air.
Makes the air feel like breathing silk
I just bought this after noticing that my horizontal bathroom mirror quickly became very covered with cat hair and particulates. I tested the air quality and it registered "very poor". I live in a luxury apartment and this shouldn't be the case, but it is. After running the Tower for 24 hours my entire apartment (1350 sq.ft) now registers "good air". My cat has stopped having a constant runny nose, my eyes don't feel dry and swollen. It just feels GOOD to come into the apartment. The difference is very noticeable.
Amazing Air Purifier
This is the 2nd Dryson product I have purchased. I have the animal vacuum and absolutely love it. So when my Blue Air purifier stopped working, started shopping around and came across the Dyson Air Purifier tower. One thing I love about this machine is that it's connected to my smart phone so I can always monitor the air quality in my room. It also indicates the air quality for the city you live in. Can set it to Automatic and it keeps the air quality at the desired level you would like. I have severe allergies so I keep mine on the highest setting. The sound is very quiet just a small fan running. There never is any real way to tell if it works, but I suffer from seasonal asthma and usually always wake up in the morning needing my inhaler, but since I have been using this I have not needed it once! Defiantly recommend this product, not only does it look amazing, but it actually works. Also the customer support is great, will help you with any question you need whether is big or small. Now i'm looking at the Dyson humidifier, which someday I hope to purchase.
SO Glad I Purchased
Love love love this purifier!I have bad allergies and asthma and this device has been a lifesaver. Not only is there a marked improvement in my symptoms, but the air smells and feels cleaner, lighter! Assembly was simple and the app is an extra plus for simplicity. I highly recommend and I will be purchasing another. Thanks Dyson!
This is an awesome product. Ultra quiet, even at night. Super powerful whenever you need it. And the remote control makes operation of this fan a dream. We use it in our Master Bedroom - the oscillation at low speed is smooth, very quiet and it looks great too!
I am a fan!
This works much better than I expected!
Expensive but has unique functions and capabilitie
Had a little issue setting up on wifi - this always gets hectic with a new device - and figured my iphone needed to be on a 2.4 ghz band for wifi or the Cool Link wont connect. I switched my phone to the 2,4 band and connection went fine. I like being able to see actual data on whats it the air and its quality. My home location wasnt in there database for setting up the location. Wish it were. Been trying to get an answer about the stuff displayed on main app screnn after outside temp and humidity. Sometimes there are numbers there and a circle with dots along with pm and 2.5 underneath.
