Easy install, good performance. Some materials could be of higher value.

Got tired of buying activated charcoal filters, so we got this one. Installation was not complicated, but required attention. Plastic water lines needed some heating with a hair dryer to soften up before putting on the brass connectors in the faucet assembly. The plastic connector for the water supply line should be made of brass or some other higher value material. It is made of plastic and while I hope it holds, the plastic threads require caution - do not over-tighten. Not sure if I trust the push-in connectors for the water line, the faucet and the tank for the long haul, but so far they are tight and do not leak. Water quality is great and the storage container holds suffient water for a family when everybody wants to get water at the same time :-)

Pro: The water tastes great as expected with any R/O filtration system. Faucet handle can be positioned on either left or right. The faucet looks nice and is easily moved from side to side. Mounting of the 3-filter system is quick and easily removable. Con: The toggle screw that holds the faucet base to the sink is not centered in the base, so it secures one side better than the other. The 1/4" black tube is almost impossible to slip on (so lube well). The faucet body is cheaply made. The body "locks" onto the base after a 1/8 turn like a pickle jar. This is not tight like a pickle jar and only prevents lifting of the body from the base. Very wobbly. The set screw is to prevent turning of the body on the base. It screws through thin plastic on the body so it's rather useless. All tubes are VERY rigid, so arrangement under sink is almost impossible. Note: Either my LEDs don't work or my battery was DOA. Check prefilter regularly. My product leaked at the base during the filling stage. There are many causes of this so consult the manual and monitor for leaks.

Comments about GE Profile Reverse Osmosis Premium Water Filtration System:
My water tastes great. Had a friend install this system. If you tee your refrigerator line into it, I recommend a new SS line.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have owned the reverse osmosis system for six years. When it stopped working I found the cost of the part to repair it was about 90% of the price of a new one. I bought the same model so I would not have to reinstall all the tubing and could use the existing screw holes. All the manufacturers' pricing is about the same.

Worked great for two years and then started developing leaks at the tubing connections. After several leaks and a ruined kitchen cabinet, I ripped the whole thing out and threw it away.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Had to replace an old GE reverse Osmosis Filtration System. Easy to install, however a 1/4" ferrule must be supplied with the system to make it easier to install.
Had to buy another one.
