The sandwich grill is really handy when you want to make a grilled cheese sandwich to accompany the tomato soup on these chilly winter days. For me ABT means "always better transactions", in that it is so easy to buy merchandise through ABT. I recommend.

There is an exposed coil behind the heated areas cheese tends to melt out the back and cleaning the coil and under or around the coil is a little cumbersome. Otherwise, it is a great product.

This product is timeless and perfect. I remember having one similar to this when I was a child and now that I'm an adult I HAD to find it again. It's a superb way to make delicious snacks, lunches...even breakfast! You can do almost anything with this sandwich grill... grilled cheese and meat sandwiches, French toast...OMELETS. Yes...omelets. I found it from ABT electronics on ebay for a great price. Get one! It's worth it.

I have been looking for a sandwich maker for some time now. [$] I searched the net and the stores unable to find a "Quality" item. I came across ABT and saw a Cuisinart [$].I figured it would just be a plug in and you would have to know when to unplug it like my former maker. Well to my surprise, and it should read this in the ad, it has two lights. One red and one green.It lights when its heated, which it heats quickly, and the other light goes on when the sandwich is done. No more burned sandwiches. [...] I very cautious ordering on the net, but my mind is at ease with this company.

My son wanted me to buy this. He used it once and never used it again. It doesn't do anything a fry pan can do except grill both sides at once. Takes up more room than a fry pan. To me, this is just one more unnecessary item.

Everything is good (styling, quality etc.) Only one biggest problem with this sandwich maker is NO on/off switch so have to take out power switch everytime.

What a mess! Terrible to clean!

Was so excited to get this item. I made grilled cheese sandwiches for my two kids and it was a disaster. I used the bread and two very thin slices of cheese for each sandwich(I buy my cheese sliced from the Deli very very thin almost shaved other wise my kids won't eat it)and it oozed everywhere and I cannot get the overspilled cheese out of the nooks and crannies. The griddle surfaces wipe clean but any spillage is stuck forever. And my kids said the sandwiches were hard, not light and fluffy like when you make it on the stove. I am not a fan of this product and I feel like I wasted my money.

instead of butter, I spray a little olive oil on both sides of sandwich; cleans super easy as long as you don't overstuff sandwich. After light turns green (when it's ready to start your sandwich), it will stay green for about 20 seconds when you first shut it. Let light turn red and then back to green again, and then it's ready. Be sure not to use any metal on the teflon surface or you'll scratch it.

I guess I didnt look closely, I was looking for more of a Pannini press... anyhow, for the $ this isnt a bad little deal for quick warm sadwiches.. Great Small Appliance

This little appliance was a natural fit for our boat. I can make breakfast sandwiches, scrambled eggs, french toast. It is perfect for warming some food up (if it is almost flat) too. It prevents me from having to cook on the stove and mess up pots and pans. It comes with a few recipes but is certainly easy to create your own recipes. It is small enough to store anywhere.

Does its job, but not for all breads

The sandwich grill does its job. The sandwiches taste grate and they're heated through and through. The lights indicate when the grill is ready for use and when they're still warming up. Those are all pluses. However I have run into trouble trying to make sandwiches/french toast that are not of 'standard size'. For the sandwiches, bread that is a tad too large or putting in too much into the sandwich themselves makes it hard to close the grill and they come out unevenly shaped. The same with french toast, which requires larger bread in order to cook properly. Overally this machine is fine for simple sandwiches and meals, but wary of your restrictions.

It serves its purpose, but doesn't have a sliding hinge, so it squashes down on the sandwich, so that larger pieces of bread get pushed forward and don't form a neat sandwich. Also, the cuts in the middle don't come down hard enough, so the two sides of the sandwich aren't cut cleanly. If you have cold cuts inside, they aren't cut, so you have to cut them after cooking. It would work better if it had a larger reservoir for thick or large bread (or a sliding hinge), and if the cuts in the middle came together.

This is a wonderful way to make a quick, hot sandwich. It only takes a few minutes to heat up, and then seals the bread as it cooks and melts the insides. It is a bit small, but powerful. You can quickly and easily make delicious croque monsieurs, grilled cheeses and other fabulous sandwiches, which my kids call: "cheezy-gooeys." A great little unit!

I love my new sandwich maker! It's so easy to clean. I make calzones with left over spaghetti sauce, cheese and uncooked flour tortillas. My family loves them, and I only have ONE dirty appliance/dish to clean when I'm done. This one gets really nice and hot fast, and it must be bigger than my old one, because I didn't have any overstuffing/spillage. Comes with other great recipe ideas too!

A bit of a surprise

This sandwich grill is more versatile than it seems at first. I haven't yet been able to make a good hot sandwich...but it works almost perfectly for simple buttered soft-toast (with or without jam) - you even enjoy eating the sides! It comes with some recipes - including omelettes, which I'm still waiting to try. But I had an idea and tried some pancake mix - it came out pretty good, and very quick - no watching/guessing when you have to turn the pancake or anything. Can't grill piled-high sandwiches because it is small, and won't really fit gourmet-type bread - you'd have to cut off the sides. The down-side is it is a little smaller than it should've been, but I've definitely used it much more than I expected I would. I'm happy with my purchase.

I like this sandwich maker. It's simple design enables me to simply create a great breakfast or lunch. The sandwich stays hot much longer than normal cooking methods because the middle is sealed due to the design. It "almost" cuts the sandwich diagonally. Clean up is easy with a paper towel, especially when it has cooled off. It is small enough to put away under a counter or in a drawer. I like it!

For the money, it's a great little grill. It doesn't have any of the bells and whistles that higher priced grills do, and the thickness won't adjust, so you can't put much on the sandwich, but I wasn't looking for anything better, so it suits me just fine.

Was great to use on nights where you don't have a lot of time to cook. The kids loved having omelets made out of them. Look forward to experimenting some more with this product.

As noted, The lack of a power switch, and the dim green and red indicator lights, still dont make this a bummer of a product but, only "hinder" it a tad.

Thsi si great for making quick hot lunches for the kids. They LOVE hot pockets but I dont' like the high fat in those premaid ones. So we can make healtier ones with exactly what they want in it pretty quickly and easily. They love to help too which is fun for everyone.

I've been using this sandwich maker for years and it still work great. I love that it is quick and easy. The sandwiches come out nice and compact so that it's easy to take on the go.

No Problems. Sandwiches can be hard to place in the sections of the grill if large sizes of sliced bread is used.

The product is great and the brushed steel finish makes it look even better. The non stick interior makes clean up very easy. It makes great sandwiches and overall a great product at a great price.

A great little grill

Does a great job of grilling a quick snack or brunch. It could use a sound (beep) when the grilling is done to remind us busy people who are doing something else while waiting. All in all, I love this product.
