We had this model in our previous home and the Profile version now. It works very well for what it is allowed to be. I say this because many of the complaints I see come from people who are replacing a much older unit. Newer dishwashers don't work as well. This is because of the Federal government mandating less and less water and energy use. So the cycles take forever, but the water being sprayed has debris in it because the Feds say you can't keep flushing it out. Further, the heated dry doesn't work well to save energy. Our solution is just to open the door and pull the top rack out 6 inches and close the door and let the air finish the job. You can also try the sanitize cycle as I think it both cleans better and gets the water hotter so that it dries faster under the heated dry mode. But it adds even more time. It's sad that dishwashers now require so much pre cleaning of dishes when 15 years ago they didn't. I don't understand how this saves any water or energy as we use hot water to rinse everything before it goes in and clean dirty knives with a dish brush first to make sure nothing is stuck. But things are only going to get worse as the Obama administration put through even stricter requirements that will be implemented soon. As for the quality issues, every manufacturer has them and when people experience them they write reviews. I've had many GE appliances over the years and the only one that broke was a recent over the range microwave. In various houses I've had 7 refrigerators, 5 dishwashers and various ranges, ovens, microwaves, washers and dryers so one failure out of dozens of units isn't the end of the world to me.

I purchased this dishwasher through the builder of my new home as an upgrade. I am very disappointed in the performance. The dishes rarely are clean (and I rinse them before putting into the dishwasher) and always have condensation on them/aren't fully dry (I use the heated drying cycle). The third shelf for utensils is one of the features I wanted this dishwasher for and the utensils do not come out clean from that shelf. I have intermittent problems with the soap dispensing correctly despite putting the capsule into the drawer correctly (I spoke to someone on the phone who explained how to put it in there.) Regardless, occasionally I open a completed cycle to find a glop of the soap pod. The only nice thing I can say is that it's very quiet. This was an expensive/splurge purchase and I regret it.

Quiet, but does not dry/clean dishes

By

from Brentwood, CA, United States

Installed last week, have run it half a dozen times. First 2 times in the normal cycle, this did not clean mild apple juice film from blender glass or light vegi deposits from stainless steel pot. Now only use AutoSense cycle. This cleans better, but disappointed in the normal cycle cleaning. Heated Dry does not work at all - dishes still come out covered with water. Have to place most in the dish rack or hand dry.

Had same issue with display

Mine had been broken longer than it's worked. Same issue as others have said with the display. Hopefully the replacement part will work better than the original.

Wonderful setup

By

from Undisclosed

I have had this dishwasher for quite some time now and i love it! I have always had hammy down dish washers dont get me wrong they are just as good but you always have to rinse your plate or wash it before you put it in the dishwasher. This dishwasher you can put them in soaked in grease, and it comes out sparkly clean!

Great Features!

By

from Bethlehem, PA, United States

We choose the GE Café Dishwasher because of the 3rd rack for silverware and it's hidden controls that tuck nicely under the countertop. I love that it is sleek and modern looking. The features are wonderful with a few options on how long you wish to wash for depending on upper or lower rack, or both, how heavy or light of a load and with an added bottle wash and sanitizer. Dishes haven't looked better!

Nice Dishwasher with all the bells and whistles

By

from Marlow, OK

We ran our dishwasher 4 normal cycles and the electronic panel quit. I was able to get it to work but didn't know which cycle was running but it was long so the dishes were extremely clean. They did come to fix it, had to order the part which took some time, then came and put the part in and it has worked fine since. Even after the trouble I would recommend this dishwasher because it does have all the bells and whistles that I like and it gets the dishes extremely clean PLUS it is so quite that we can't even tell it is running.

Doesn't seem to clean as well as I would like also despite the fact that feature suggested it could handle more dishes I believe the old dishwasher had a larger capacity

It's so quiet, we can't tell when it's running

By

from Sarasota, FL, United States

We upgraded to this dishwasher as an option in our newly built home, primarily for the larger heater. Much to our pleasure, the unit not only provides outstanding cleaning, it does so with the least noise of any dishwasher we have owned (not a small number). The shelves are nicely organized and provide numerous options for various eating utensils and assorted dishware. It is a superb unit which we highly recommend.
