I originally had plan to use Gear Fit2 as fitness tracker only because I have a classic watch. As I used Gear Fit2 when I work out, especially running outside, I feel more comfortable when I wear it. I think more comfortable than the classic watch. Regarding performance as a tracker, it records my activity accurately such as number of steps, speed of activity, or etc. Also, the battery is one of most satisfactory points. Gear Fit2 operates a little bit more than 2 days when it is fully charged (100%). And it takes less than two hours to fully charged. So far, I don't see any inconvenience due to the battery. Currently, I use Gear Fit2 everyday, replacing the classic watch. Every one or two days, I check my activities and try to exercise more by observing the records. I think Gear Fit2 is really good for people who seek for tracking devices as well as who are finding a watch.

I purchased this to replace another fitness wearable which was under performing to my expectations. I am pleased so far with this device's accuracy. However, I am unable to get call, text or email notifications and other desirable "smart" features to work because it appears that the Gear Fit 2 app required to make that happen is not fully capable of completing those settings with my new non-Samsung phone. I select the menu item (ex. "Notifications") , it opens and then immediately reverts back to the app's main screen. This is AFTER installing a bunch of other required apps that were required during the set-up process with my new non-Samsung device. That is unfortunate and surprising since I have an early Samsung Smart TV and it works with the new non-Samsung phone . I can't fathom why they wouldn't encourage people to "sample the goods" by making this entry price point product a little more friendly to those who choose variety in their lives by mixing it up a bit. Unlike the product that this is replacing, which allowed more than one device to sync with it, it seems that the Gear Fit2 can only sync with one device at a time, requiring a "reset" if I want to use another device to access S-Health or Gear Fit 2 app information from it. My original non-Samsung tracker COULD communicate fully with my older Samsung smartphone, as well as my current new android phone, by the way. Lack of notifications makes this only a great entry level fitness tracker - not a smart watch. S-Health is great, as it does work on my newer android phone, even though it's not Samsung. Well done there, at least. In summary, I like the product and it's fitness features. I don't like that Samsung is overly proprietary to the point of excluding new non-Samsung phones from access to advertised features that make a "smart" device "smart" while claiming it's a "smart" fitness tracker. I will think twice and read more reviews in the future before making such a costly purchase of Samsung products with such high expectations on promises of performance .

Love this product
Comments about Samsung Gear Fit2 Large Blue Fitness Band:
Love my new gear fit2. It is great if you are trying to keep fit, if you are idle too long it will vibrate and remind you to get up and move.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I thought this product would be great but it says I climb stairs when I don't and I don't believe my step count is accurate. Because I have a Samsung phone it does sync well, however, I use My Fitness Pal app and it does not sync with that so I have to input data into My Fitness Pal (because I have used it so long) and also S Health App that is on my phone. Not very convenient. I will be sending this product back to Samsung and try a different device that is compatible with the apps I already use. Also, it is quite large, I would like it to be a little smaller and less conspicuous to wear with all types of clothes.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
A good fitness tracker
Dear Samsung, I have been using my gear fit 2 for a few weeks and I'm in love of it. It is a value-for-the-money product that is packed with great features. I belive there are some features that can be improved. The GPS lock before we run has a bug when we connect via Bluetooth, it won't have a lock. A software update is needed. Also I feel like paying extra for a GPS app for our fit gear is unreasonable. If the map is pre installed, that will be great. However, I'm considering getting another for my wife. For its price, it's the best hardware features it has for a device. Thanks!

I loved it at first, but the battery dies way to quickly. I have a few apps setup for notifications and a custom watchface, and the battery will last at most two days. If they could increase the battery life it improve my view of the watch a lot. They say to increase battery life turn off notifications and use a more simple watchface, but if I do that then I'd rather just wear a mechanical watch which looks nicer and I don't have to recharge constantly.
It is a fitness band with smartwatch capabilities, it is a great fitness watch, and I love the extra things it can do. It is not a smartwatch though, so dont think that it can call or have internet or other apps. It is a great price, it looks great. Love it

I love that I can see all my text messages and emails right on my watch. Plus the options to change the watch faces.

The device feels like it's still in beta. The software algorithms too narrow.
doesn't deliver as marketed

The GPS doesn't work. The whole reason I selected this specific wearable is that it was supposed to do gps without my having to take my phone with me. It doesn't work. I will be taking it back to best buy tomorrow. It is well designe aesthetically. The batter doesn't last long, and I'm just using the default screen not some fancy battery draining version. Very disappointing. I know Samsung can do better - I've owned other product from them that have been super - but not this one.
Nice product good quality

Battery life is one of issues why it's not getting 5 stars. Also hard to read face when outside actually impossible to read.

This fitness/smart watch is great. I wish that it could sync to a new phone without a light reset. I had more than a month's of data and it is always gone if I refresh my phone or factory reset it. Other than that it is a great value.
