I originally had plan to use Gear Fit2 as fitness tracker only because I have a classic watch. As I used Gear Fit2 when I work out, especially running outside, I feel more comfortable when I wear it. I think more comfortable than the classic watch. Regarding performance as a tracker, it records my activity accurately such as number of steps, speed of activity, or etc. Also, the battery is one of most satisfactory points. Gear Fit2 operates a little bit more than 2 days when it is fully charged (100%). And it takes less than two hours to fully charged. So far, I don't see any inconvenience due to the battery. Currently, I use Gear Fit2 everyday, replacing the classic watch. Every one or two days, I check my activities and try to exercise more by observing the records. I think Gear Fit2 is really good for people who seek for tracking devices as well as who are finding a watch.

I purchased this to replace another fitness wearable which was under performing to my expectations. I am pleased so far with this device's accuracy. However, I am unable to get call, text or email notifications and other desirable "smart" features to work because it appears that the Gear Fit 2 app required to make that happen is not fully capable of completing those settings with my new non-Samsung phone. I select the menu item (ex. "Notifications") , it opens and then immediately reverts back to the app's main screen. This is AFTER installing a bunch of other required apps that were required during the set-up process with my new non-Samsung device. That is unfortunate and surprising since I have an early Samsung Smart TV and it works with the new non-Samsung phone . I can't fathom why they wouldn't encourage people to "sample the goods" by making this entry price point product a little more friendly to those who choose variety in their lives by mixing it up a bit. Unlike the product that this is replacing, which allowed more than one device to sync with it, it seems that the Gear Fit2 can only sync with one device at a time, requiring a "reset" if I want to use another device to access S-Health or Gear Fit 2 app information from it. My original non-Samsung tracker COULD communicate fully with my older Samsung smartphone, as well as my current new android phone, by the way. Lack of notifications makes this only a great entry level fitness tracker - not a smart watch. S-Health is great, as it does work on my newer android phone, even though it's not Samsung. Well done there, at least. In summary, I like the product and it's fitness features. I don't like that Samsung is overly proprietary to the point of excluding new non-Samsung phones from access to advertised features that make a "smart" device "smart" while claiming it's a "smart" fitness tracker. I will think twice and read more reviews in the future before making such a costly purchase of Samsung products with such high expectations on promises of performance .

Would give 5 stars across the board, but calorie count seems inaccurate.
from Hampton Roads, VA
I like my Gear Fit2 and once changed the settings I can get 3 days out of a single charge, but the calorie count seems wildly inaccurate. How can I burn 630 calories in 6 hours of sleep and only 2000 calories throughout the rest of the day while accumulating over 17000 steps, many under a load?

Gear keeps getting better and finding things I didn't know it did
Horrible band design
from Virginia Beach, VA
I love the feel and futures of the fit gear... however the hand design is only practical if you have to remove the fit gear really fast.. the band snaged on my clothing and poped open and fell to the ground and since it fell face down from 3feet to concrete... the screen shattered. No replacement parts found online and not covered under warranty so this expensive gagate is now trash.

I love it!
It fits perfect, easy to use plus makes everything so easy! I will always use it!
from Olathe, KS, USA
Transitioning from a GearFit 1 to a GearFit 2 took some getting used to. The different features, layout, etc. and the band is a lot better than the GearFit 1. Even if it unsnaps, it stays on.
Best fitness wearable available!!!
from Del Rio, TX 78840, USA
Has everything you could want in a fitness wearable. A big plus is being able to load up to 4GB of music and use with any Bluetooth ear buds. Very light weight and comfortable enough to wear all day.
Loving my gear fit 2!!
from El Paso
I love using my gear fit 2! It has so many features that are useful. I'm able to see who's calling and start my music Playlists. I love how it keeps my calorie count, heart rate, and steps. It keeps track of my sleep patterns too!! It's amazing!! Design is not too bad...& built in seakers would be great! something a little more dainty would be awesome!!! But I totally love it!!!
Great tech for the money
My wife bought this for me as a gift and it is a great looking tech, I like the size of the screen, and and the bands are comfortable. The tech can be improved though. I wish it had a continuous hr monitor. Instead of periodic or prompted hr readings. Overall though its a neat little tech if you dont want/like to get the gear S watches.
Poor battery life
I've had this for a couple of months and while exercising with music playing the battery dies within a couple of hours. I don't like the idea of leaving it on te charger at night so it has enough juice to make it through my morning workout because that takes away from recording my sleep.
