I just got my Nex-7 from my local store (National Camera). I pre ordered a long time ago and they finally gave me a call! I am in no rush and I think Sony made a tremedous effort to get some of these out before Christmas (I would have waited till March, but thanks for the early christmas gift sony :) I also have the Nex-5n and will say that once you hold a Nex-7 you will not look back... the EVF is amazing and the tri-nav makes all the difference. If you can wait and spring the cash for the nex-7....you wont regret it! I am now waiting for my 24 1.8 zeiss. Only thing i could wish for now is more weather proofing and a full fram sensor (wishful dreaming). This little camera will go with me more than My D7000.

I have the kit lens, the 55-210, and the Zeiss 24/1.8. I also had a NEX5 (not the "N"). The NEX5 autofocus was awesome (thank goodness because of no EVF) and MUCH better than the AF on the 7. I am (please read this Sony) hoping for an awesome improvement in this with the firmware update. (please Sony? please, please?) I also am thankful they have the "enlarge for manual focus" option. I would be DEAD without this! Wish I still had my NEX5 in the mean time though. That being said, maybe my camera is defective? (Sony?)

Great pictures for travel, easy to handle
I received this camera from Sony support in exchange for a non repairable camera. At the time all they had was white. I would never buy a white camera myself, but that doesn't affect picture quality which is excellent. I am amazed by how good the jpegs right out of the camera really are - properly exposed and with good white balance. RAW files also lend themselves to post processing if desired. I wish there were more affordable prime lenses, especially in the telephoto range. Sony has pretty much switched their lens production over to the larger full-frame cameras, which I don't want or need.
A6000 Lens-to-photograph Quality Challenges DSLRs
from Los Angeles, CA 90045, USA
This camera has replaced my big, bulky DSLRs. The reason we went to DSLR cameras was the photo quality from lens, to sensor, to printed or displated photographs. The Sony A6000 camera gives us the lens-to-photograph quality of the best DSLRs.
Having a great time getting wonderful photos. Shots from Macro (with the 18mm-55mm lense) and 210mm zoom (with the 55mm-210mm telephoto lense) are crisp and clear. My wife loves the skin smoothing in Portrait mode.
Sold all my Canon DSLR gear for an a6000. Bought it body-only and separate Sony zoom and Sigma 30mm prime. No regrets.
This camera is by far the easiest to use.
Nice camera. Very Capable
Nice professional grade pictures. Long learning curve to understand all the functions. I recommend an extra battery And charger, $$$!
Nice step up
from Matteson, IL 60443, USA
Excellent camera with superb features. A real step up from my analog Minolta (25 years!). I like it but wish that the accompanying zoom lens at least went to 55mm instead of 50. I feel the need to augment with a 70-200mm zoom to get the shots that I want. (Sony's seem expensive, though.) The other issue for me was information overload on the camera without very clear instructions as to what it all means and the practical applications thereof. Otherwise, I am quite pleased with this gift from my wife, who moved me up before I could move myself up, into the photographic digital world.
Camera of the future
from Ontario, NY, USA
Phenomenal in so many ways. Amazing picture quality with this camera. Ultra fast focusing...unreal to say the least. I really love it now that I have used it for a bit, a little tricky at first but fairly easy to master.
Poor, slow support for auto focus problem
Camera and lens worked well initially, but after <100 images, the auto focus died. Many of my newest shots are not in sharp focus at all. I've made several calls and internet help chats and now they have me checking for forefocus and aftfocus issues. Before that, the chat guy told me to try another lens. Like I'm about to buy a new lens for a camera that doesn't work. Camera replaced an old Pentax DSLR that was bulky and unreliable. But it did take acceptable photographs.
