We had the latest and greatest with Time Warner Cable. No major complaints but nothing to brag about either. Then came along the TP-LINK CR700. It looked pretty simple coming out of the box. Very sleek and well put together. I received the box, the power supply and a USB cord. I broke out the directions and took pictures of my old connection (just in case) and plugged in the power supply and hooked up the USB and aux cables and waited the obligatory 10 minutes. I then excitedly went to my computer and clicked the TP-LINK connection and entered the password. So at this point I was "hooked up" to the internet but no go as far as connecting to the internet. At this point I learned a VERY valuable lesson: Your internet service company MUST activate your box (once you hook it up and wait 10 minutes). You need your MAC address for this which is clearly written on the side of the modem (I took a close-up picture of the side of the box so that I would have the password, serial number and MAC numbers right in front of me). The MAC numbers are 12 digits. You just give this to your internet service provider and voila, time warping fast blazing internet speed. The whole thing, including figuring out the telephone activation part took no more than 15 minutes. Oh, and my WiFi signal went from barely to the bedrooms to all bars lit in our entire house. My pages are now popping up as fast as I can type them, and even my husband is beyond impressed. One little hiccup I ran into was our TW phone. It is not supported by this modem that I can see. But TW will give you a coax splicer and cable for free and you just use the TW cable for your phone. The great news being, if you are using your TW cable box for only your phone line (and no internet - why go back to the dinosaur ages as far as speed) they will waive your $10 monthly service box fee, so the unit will pay for itself.I did receive this item at no charge but my review wouldn't change one bit if I had paid full price.

We had major issues connecting. We called our internet provider, they saw a signal. Our wireless devices saw the system. But we could not access the Internet from anything. We called customer support three times. It was VERY hard to understand the females, obviously from China. They asked for us to email a pic of the screen. But we never heard back. They really need good English speaking people. We gave up.

Works just like it's supposed too!
from Orange County, California
The product works just like it's supposed too. It was easy to set up and works great. It was a little challenging to set the password but once we figured it out everything else was easy. We live in a 1400 square foot home and the quality was great throughout the house.
Great Modem - Easy to set up
from Spokane WA
This TP-LINK Wireless Modem was very easy to set up, we immediately had 5 devices connected to it and the speed for all was great. I would buy this modem and recommend it to others. I was not aware of this modem before receiving it. Overall this is a great modem much better than the one that was provided to me by comcast/Xfinity. I really like the fact that I can set up guest networks.

This was very easy to set up and install. I did have to call the isp to do the activation, I tried doing online and it did not work. But the internet is now fast and works great. Changing the username and password was a breeze.
What's not to love?
By Tina the Internet Lover
Few things are more annoying than unreliable internet connections, and I'm happy to say this router helps prevent that annoyance. I only ask for high speed internet that won't cause me headaches from disconnecting every 10 minutes and will let me watch videos, surf the web, and play games in peace! If you know anything about internet connectivity, you'd know that routers like the TP-Link help make dreams like mine possible. I'm so glad I found this router, would definitely invest in buying one, and you should too!
Great Modem And Router in One
from Springfield, OR
To start off with the product was easy to set up right out of the box. I took it out and plugged it in. I had to call my internet service provider to active the device to work. That was easy. After that was activated I simple set up my local area network password and was surfing the web.

Functional and sleek

We replaced our older modem and router with this unit. Not only does it take up less space, our internet runs faster now.
