I just received my IconX today. After reading the reviews, I knew enough to CHARGE them before putting them in My ears. Charging didn't take long at ALL. Once I plugged them into my head :) they paired right up. The CONS that I have read about, and what I have seen myself in using these earbuds: -problem pairing: Personally, I have had no trouble at ALL with this. Not only did they pair with My Samsung Galaxy Note5, they also paired with my ipod touch. (only note, you need to place the earbuds back in the charging case for a second, put them back in your ears and they will pair right up with the device. Once paired, end of issue) -sound quality (lack of bass): On this I have to agree (sorta). When listening to music streamed via My Galaxy Note 5, the sound was weak, not much volume and VERY little bass. HOWEVER! When used with My ipod touch (which I normally use for music anyway, not phone), the sound is AWESOME! NICE bass, plenty of deafening volume. These little earbuds sound great. -confusing touch controls: O.o seriously? This could not be easier. Anybody that has used a Beats Headset, already knows these controls. In short, LOVE these earbuds!

2016 has been something of a second coming for Bluetooth and wireless technology, due to headphone ports suddenly becoming something of a luxury item on flagship smartphones. So, if we are moving into this brave new wireless world (version 2.0), these things had better be good, right? To begin with the Icon X are clearly a premium offering. You're presented with two earbuds, with a rubber inner ear locking design that I'd seen previously with my YurBuds, together with a small clasp case that contains an additional battery, for charging the headphones when you're out and about. The locking design works incredibly well, and, after you've picked from the three sizes of both the buds and the inner ear lock, you'll never feel like the headphones are likely to drop out. The case is reassuringly weighty, with a satisfying click as you lock then in place to charge. The sound quality, too, is superb. Deep and bassy, without being overpowering, with crisp highs, the Icon X are faultless. While they block out any external sound, as you might expect, they do offer an 'ambient sound' mode, that uses a microphone to play ambient sounds to the user while they have the headphones in. This is extremely useful when wandering around town, enabling you to hear traffic and other noises that could pose a hazard. So far, so good. However, it's here where the Icon X's flaws make themselves know. The Icon X are packed with great ideas; the charging case, the ambient sound mode are just two. Another is the sensors on each earbud, that detect when the earbuds are in your ear, switching themselves off when they aren't. Well, a great idea also needs great execution, and in this case, Samsung missed the mark. Getting the earbuds to detect they are in your ears isn't the problem, what becomes a problem is when, after ten minutes of wearing them, they think they've fallen out. I mentioned that the in-ear locking design works fantastically? Well, while they feel like they do, the sensors frequently disagree with you. During an hour session at the gym, I was notified they were falling out of my ears by the tone they emit (when they didn't feel like they were) four times. Granted, using gym equipment requires a great deal of movement, but sweat seemed to make the sensor act up even more frequently. Walking around town, I had the same issue twice; and it's not just a case of pushing the earbud in further, you have to fiddle with them for far longer than you ever should until you hear the tone to indicate the earbud is secure. Not only this, but the device has a touch sensitive outer shell, designed to give the user the ability to skip and pause music. Again, another nice idea, but it's far too easy to accidentally operate the skip or pause function when simply trying to fit the things back inside your ear. The reason for the in-ear sensors is an attempt to preserve battery, which is critical due to the headphones extremely disappointing battery life. One occasion I made note of, I took the Icon X out of their case at 6.40pm on 100% charge; by 7.05, my phone app told me they had used ⅓ the battery already. After an hour, the left earbud had half the battery left, but the right, the 'lead earbud', had 1/4 battery left, and was marked red. On another occasion I had an alert that told me 10% of the battery was left; I timed this at 17 minutes before the earbud switched off. The charging case is there for a reason. The earbuds each contain a 47mAh battery, which means that the case should be able to fill the pair of earphones with charge three times. This is extremely useful to have to hand, and works as a great companion and carry case, but the average 1-2 usage on a single charge is still a disappointment. Beyond that, the Gear Icon X does have the ability to store music in the headphones itself, together with tracking fitness activities, such as running and walking. Since a hard drive crash a few years ago wiped out several hundred mp3s (and lost a hundred of so permanently, such was my lax attitude to backing up), I stream all of my music, so the storage is not an aspect of the device that appeals. That said, there are plenty of people who would relish the opportunity to run without their cellphone, while still tracking their activity and listen to music. Ultimately, for all its great ideas, the Icon X feels like it was rushed out without being adequately tested in a bid to beat the competition to the punch. I could live with the battery life due to the charging case, but the issue with the sensors left me frustrated and cold. For the pricetag, I want an impeccable pair of earphones; instead I got a pair that promised so much, sounded so great, but fell badly short when it came to usability.

Comments about Samsung Gear IconX Blue Wireless Earbuds:

I got these for my birthday Sep 2016, and they were awesome; however, I am lucky if I get 90 minutes off of a full charge on the batteries. So when I work out, I have to bring back up ear buds for when these conk out. It is terrible. Is there a work around or did I just get a bad set?

Have to download a program to use. As much as you pay for them you would think the battery would last long, start to fall out after a month while working out. Can't connect to other products like the gear watch.

Comments about Samsung Gear IconX Blue Wireless Earbuds:

I work from home a lot and like to tune out those around me or the television that is constantly blaring, but still am up and around so my boyfriend got me these for Christmas so I wouldn't have to unplug. The first time they were great! Stayed perfectly in my ear, then I get the in-ear warning that I had 10% battery remaining til they finally turned off a little over an hour later. Maybe I didn't have them charged all the way? Tested it again another night with a full battery. Lasted an hour and a half. Okay, maybe play with just one ear while charging the other (which defeats the purpose of drowning everything out). I thought I had it! But no, you select a main ear, so the second you take that one out to charge and wear the other one, the Bluetooth disconnects! (All tests were performed while streaming. I didn't upload any music so I wouldn't have to perform a reset if I returned them. I have heard the battery lasts up to 3 hours with uploaded music, not streamed, which still isn't acceptable for me.) Finally decided to take them back. A note on the charger: once the lights are green that indicate they're charged, leave the case open, otherwise it will re-drain. Leave it in your bag to charge wirelessly and you'll have some dead earpieces. I have not given up on Samsung however. All of my gadgets are Samsung, but since this is really a new innovative product, I anxiously await the sequel! I would recommend for those using it to workout since that typically lasts about as long as the battery.

Comments about Samsung Gear IconX Blue Wireless Earbuds:

Awesome! Yes I find these to be the best wireless ear buds on the planet. They fit perfect and if they don't one of the 3 wings & buds most likely will. They stay on your ears. They don't move around when you become more active. In fact, I forgot I had them in during a sparring match and was asked to take them out to my surprise. The sound is so clear at every level and they don't over exaggerate the bass. It is accurate, full and reminds me of a smaller version of my Klipschorns. If have any sense of tech you will pick the little nuances of these gems quickly and if you're not a few days of honest test runs will have you working them like a pro. I will say an hour and a half of Pure streaming is enough for a quality workout, but the three hours you receive when utilizing the stored songs on the internal memory re welcomed option. I bought these refurbished and had no issues and have enjoyed them every time I put them in. I wore these into work one day and one of my co-workers said what are wearing? I showed him. I demonstrated them for him and he mediately said I gotta have a pair. So now four co-workers have them and three wives have them! Every one of them has said other people at the gym havel ask them what they are, so I'm sure the dominoes will keep falling. Thank you Samsung.

I bought these last month and am very disappointed. They only hold 1.5 hrs of use per charge and if you don't use them in a couple days, they lose charge completely. The buttons are too easy to hit when you don't want to. They also don't deplete at the same speed. You may have one side that dies 5 minutes before the other. Very frustrating. Will not by again.

Comments about Samsung Gear IconX Blue Wireless Earbuds:

I love these earbuds. Sound is great, and volume range fine. The fit is very customizable, and I have no problem or concerns with them falling out, even while riding my bicycle. Sometimes, after 30 minutes or so, I'll need to adjust them but that's it. The controls were very wonky when I first got them, but after a software update, they became much better but could still use some improvements. Sometimes my touch isn't registered, or is misinterpreted (maybe 5% of the time). Frustrating, but livable. If the earbuds would "remember" my settings or allow me to default things like volume level, ambient noise on, etc., it would make them much better.. I would LOVE to have either a built in locator, or an attachment point where I could add one. A "squeal" feature, like what's available with the S2 would be perfect. I live in constant fear that I'm going to lose the case. My only outright disappointment with these is the ambient noise amplifier. I ride my bike and was hoping I could use these to enhance my ability to hear traffic coming up behind me. Nope. Just the very loud sound of wind rushing by, overpowering everything else. If this noise could be eliminated, that would be amazing. Fix the ambient noise issue with wind, and I'd happily buy a second pair.

The sound and voice clarity is great. I don't use the workout apps feature, mostly use for wireless headset at work. Battery life is terrible, but nice that you can use one piece while charging the other. The charging station could use an on off switch, Kinda difficult to transport because every time you close the lid it charges the ear pieces and runs down the battery. Plus the battery runs down quickly unless you keep it on the charger.
