Basically use it for everything that I, a non-cooker, do. First one sent did not go around smoothly. The mechanism stuttered. ABT replaced the unit immediately and 2nd one is absolutely fine. The 1st one also seemed to not heat evenly.

Happy defroster!

I'm basically a defroster, and this microwave is ideal for my purposes...does a GREAT job. I'd be happier with it if it had a door button rather than a handle and if the door itself was less flimsy than it appears (It's plastic.), but I've got no REAL complaints.

Under Cabinet Hanging Works Great!

I installed this in a school common area under a cabinet that was only 11 1/2" deep, and it fit fine -- about 1/2" clearance at back (it vents to the sides) and the front mounting hole was about 1" from the front edge of the cabinet.

Microwave heats evenly and all controls are easy to understand and work well. The door makes a disturbing loud slam noise when closing. They should have put in some cheap rubber bumpers. The mounting hardware makes a big speed bump inside of a cabinet when it is mounted under the cabinet. I took the inside-of-the-cabinet hardware to work to modify it.

For its compact size this microwave delivers. Even though it is only .7 cubic ft, you can still fit a dinner plate in it to reheat meals or warm plates.Also, has all the 1-touch buttons for the things you actually use. This microwave is perfect for limited space or student dorm room.

Hey, it Works!

THis was a replacement for a large microwave that broke. We decided to get a smaller one to save on space. Since the microwave oven is tiny, the whole oven moves when trying to open the door. We thought that the microwave would be larger than it is. Some dishes will not fit, but it is very good at heating 1 small dish at a time. Upon starting, there is a buzzing sound that dissapears after 3-5 seconds. The display and controls are very simple to use. This microwave is ideal for 1 person, or a even a a couple who do not use the microwave much.

Compact is the key word

This is definitely a COMPACT microwave. We were using a larger over-the-stove model that was much larger and sturdier, so this one seems very flimsy by comparison. The door has no latch to disconnect, and you have to brace your finger against the oven body to pull open the door or it will scoot across the counter when you pull on the door handle. O/wise seems powerful enough for our limited use (melting, heating--no full meal cooking). It does seem a little expensive for it's size and sturdiness.

We rarely use the microwave for anything other than defrosting my infant's homemade frozen foods. It works great for that, so we're pleased. Compact microwave for countertop/shelf

Satisfactory--but not powerful on high

This product is OK, I guess. I bought it to use with frozen food dinners--but on its highest setting--it doesn't do anything near what the frozen products predict. Also, instructions are very confusing--I think they were translated--and translated badly at that. And, nowhere does it tell you how to go from start to finish in doing anything. (For example: How To Heat Coffee, or, How To Make A Frozen Dinner--nothing like that is included--just confusing lists, some of which were just wrong and I had to figure out for myself when programming(power levels--5 instead of 50, 6 instead of 60). The Instruction Booklet was just one big mess. On the other hand, the turntable works evenly and well.

Great little microwave

I just moved to a small apartment and had no room for my old full-size microwave. This Whirlpool microwave had great reviews so I thought I'd try it. It's small size is just perfect, doesn't take up much room on my counter. There's enough room inside to hold a full-size dinner plate (10 3/4" I think). It doesn't tip when you open the door, though it might slide a little since it's lightweight. Cook times may require some adjusting since it's only 700 watts but so far that hasn't been an issue. ABT definitely has the best price on this product as well.

Exactly what we needed for a 2nd microwave. Attractive, small footprint. But a reminder, small size can be a problem with rotation with containers having handles, other protuberances as won't have room to turn around when cooking. So, limited to dishes with small diameter. That said, for our use where we already have one, larger microwave, this is good when wanting to simultaneously prepare a second, smaller dish. But, wouldn't recommend if this is the only microwave you will own. Then, you will need one with a larger internal cavity!

Perfectly adequate microwave

We bought this microwave because we needed a small countertop model in white to match our other appliances. We use it mainly to heat up leftovers, thaw out bread, melt butter and chocolate for cooking, and steam vegetables. It works adequately for all of these tasks, and it is large enough to hold a dinner plate but small enough to fit in a corner without taking up a lot of counter space. A 30-second button rather than a 1-minute button would be more useful, and a timer would be nice, but the one feature I really don't like is that it doesn't have a button to open the door. You have to brace the oven slightly (I use my thumb) when pulling the door open or it moves around. Other than that, a decent product at a fair price that does what it is supposed to do.

I wanted a small, inexpensive microwave for reheating leftovers, defrosting frozen foods, that kind of thing. Other than being a little noisy and retaining food smells even after cleaning and airing it out (I can still smell yesterday's popcorn), this one has been perfect for my purposes so far. It's only been a few weeks, so I can't vouch for the long term.

I have to rave about my microwave

Although there may be larger capacity and more powerful microwaves out there, since I am not a gourmet cook this unit suits me perfectly. Even the split pea soup that exploded all over the oven when I accidentally left it in too long cleaned up easily. I especially like the fact that it comes with under cabinet mounting hardware. I have a small kitchen so the fact that it takes up no counter space and is at eye level is a real bonus. Although I have only owned it for about a month, I am hoping that it will be as reliable as my Whirlpool built-in oven which has been trouble free for over 15 years.

We reheat coffee and leftovers, make microwave popcorn. We are still learning not to burn the popcorn! We bought it because we thought it had a door release button(looked like it in the photo) and that we could hang it from the cabinet. There is no door release button. When we hung it from the cabinet, the outside of the cabinet separated from the microwave, so we have to keep it on the countertop. We paid a little more thinking we would get those features, but probably could have found a simple counter model for less.

I'm very pleased with this compact microwave. It's size and weight were perfect for my purpose of hanging a microwave under the cabinet. I use it to warm things up or cook a frozen entree, so the wattage is very adequate. The instructional manual was very straight forward and easy to read...simple instructions. In my work truck I have a 500W inverter with 750W peak for 10 minutes. It has not blown any fuses or done anything but heat my lunches. The microwave does wonderful for leftovers, soup, popcorn and whatever I've thrown at it. I just takes a bit longer than the 1100W microwave I have at home, but that is to be expected. Wonderful for when I'm out in the middle of nowhere and need a hot cup of chili.

I have a small kitchen so after my old microwave stopped working I looked high and low for one that would mount under a cabinet. This is one of the few I could find. It heats a full size dinner plate in spite of it's small size. The turn table is a little jerky but it does the trick. Things take a tad longer but for the price it's perfect.

Powerful micro in a small space

I bought this micro because it mounted under the cabinet and of its positive reviews. My GE Spacemaker also mounted under the cabinet, but died after >15 years, and the new model Spacemaker didn't get good reviews. Unfortunately the first microwave that ABT sent didn't work so we had to send it back. This replacement microwave works very well and I LOVE that it mounts so as to give me more counter space. Great price.

I bought this because of the under-cabinet mounting kit it comes with. Inexplicably, this seems like a real niche, and microwaves that come with or support under-cabinet mounting are hard to find. Typically they're also a lot more expensive than this one and the mounting kit is sold separately for another $20+.Given this unit, with mount, cost only [$], I was a little concerned about quality and ease of use. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to mount, how simple it is to use and how well it works.It's only 700W, so cooking takes a bit longer than with other microwaves, but that also means it doesn't draw a lot of power (requiring a dedicated circuit) the way a 1000W+ microwave might. It also doesn't dissipate a lot of heat.I wish it had a kitchen timer (as most microwaves do), but that's a trivial oversight given most of my other appliances do have one.I'd definitely buy this unit again, and I'd definitely shop with [...] again!

Popcorn overcooks somewhat on the "E-Z Choice" feature. Unit tends to move around counter if I don't hold onto it. The door is awkward to open if one is right handed. [...] I like the built-in settings and even cooking.

Compact Microwave does the job

I use it more for reheating than cooking but occasionally will micro a burger in 5 min instead of broiling. This microwave is more than ample uuless you want to micro a turkey or a very large roast. The only thing I miss on this micro is a separate timer that times without turning the microwave on. A great buy for the money!

Nice simple microwave, a little noisey but i guess that way i don't forget that i put something in the microwave. All meals came out heated well, the spinning plate is easy to remove and clean. This microwave is very simple and basic so if your life doesn't depend on a microwave, it's a buy.

Little, but powerful...as it can be...

This microwave is made to mount under a cabinet, so there are 4 small plastic caps where the screws would go, which look kinda funny if you are keeping it on your countertop. The door is really solid and the buttons are simple. It has plenty of power and heats as quickly as my 1100w model did. The only thing I don't like is the tray. It doesn't turn smoothly. Doesn't seem to affect the heating, but it doesn't thrill me. It drags a lot.

Even though this has 100 watts less than my old MW (costing hundreds more--though it was bigger), it heats just as well. It's a great price for one that you can mount under the cabinet. It's perfect for heating a plate of leftovers, popcorn, etc.. You can't get anything bigger than a normal-size dinner plate in it, but that doesn't matter to me.

So far so good. It's only been a few weeks, so I don't know if it has problems yet, but I don't expect anything to go wrong (whirlpools are usually great in my experience). It is very nicely compact; it's very small and can fit anywhere, yet it's still tall enough to fit anything I need to put into it. It probably has more space inside than my older, bigger microwave did. Nice features while still being very simple, and that's all I need or want. Decently powerful for what it is (700 watt). And the black looks nice. [...] I am very pleased!

This microwave is exactly what i was looking for: small, simple, and reasonably priced. It is listed for over twice as much on Amazon. It is the perfect size and though it's a little low on power, that just means you cook things a little longer, which also seems to mean more even cooking. The presets for popcorn and baked potatoes are near perfect. In our last apartment the microwave always burned the popcorn. The reviews say it is reliable and I have to agree the construction does seem to be a lot more sturdy than anything else i looked at.

For this price, it works well enough. It's not very powerful, however if you don't mind waiting an extra 30sec it's just fine. It also fits perfectly on my tiny countertop and has the option of under the cabinet mounting. If you don't have a lot of space to play with, it is a good compromise of power and size. So far I've had no problems.

Was looking for microwave to fit under existing cabinet. Did not have room for standard over the range without extensive remodel. This unit fit the bill. Saves counter space and is good for reheating leftovers or frozen dinners - about all I use one for. Popcorn bag gets hung on the the side of oven - just a little too small for turntable to make it, but still popped just fine.

Great product for small-sized household. One thing about this product is that it is quiet compared to most microwave ovens I know. Its only defect is that it's clock stinks: everytime you turn the microwave oven off, you have to re-enter the time the next time you switch it on - i.e. in case you are someone who uses a microwave as a clock.

This is a great little microwave [...] We have limited space and hubby was able to install this under a counter very easily. (great news for the unhandy!) This microwave is replacing my old 23 year old model and I am amazed at how quiet and easy it is to use. It is the perfect model for us as we are retired and can wait the few extra seconds it takes to heat over the higher watt models. It isn't made like the all metal older models so I don't think the door would hold up too well with a lot of little hands opening and closing all day. But for us -- it works great -- the price is right and I would buy it again!

This microwave replaced my big GE $400. microwave. It's the perfect size for what most of us use microwaves for. Heating a plate up. And it does it much better than my $400. one did. In fact this is the best microwave I have used at getting the right temperatures. Plus it has a pizza reheat button. Everyone in my house loves that.

I don't cook in a microwave, but I do use it to reheat. This model freed up counter space, and for the money it was exactly what I wanted. If you use a microwave alot and for various cooking applications you will probably want something bigger and more powerful. This was also fairly easy to mount under the cabinets.

My 19 yr old microwave finally gave up it's ghost. It was only a 400W, but it suited my simple needs. When searching for a replacement, I was discouraged as to the large size of available products. My kitchen is microsize, so I needed something small. I read online reviews of many makes/models, and, with the "under cupboard mounting hardware" included, I took a chance. When I first put it on the counter, it rocked back and forth. One of the "feet" was uneven. I put a little folded paper under it to even it up. As I plan on mounting it under a cupboard (limited counter space), I'm not too concerned. I wouldn't think they're all made uneven like mine. At 700W, this microwave has made me very happy. It's simple to use. I do not cook full meals in it, so a more powerful appliance would have been a waste. I use it mostly for heating up vegies, reheating leftovers, and easy cooking. The minute plus button works anytime, multiple times. The green LED display is pleasing. The auto cook & defrost seems right on. The glass turntable is smaller than my old one, but it holds a standard plate just fine. I'd suggest shopping around to find the best deal on this microwave. Prices varied considerably in my research.
