great little unit

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I got this to replace my older icecream maker which uses a lot of crushed ice and salt and takes a long while to make the icecream but sure was noisy. This unit creates the perfect amount and the consistency is creamy throughout. It is not that noisy, but wish it was quieter. All in all, a great little unit for the money.

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

It worked very well. Made one batch. Hardest thing is to find room in the freezer and this freezer bowl is fairly small holding just 1-1/2 qt. If I were doing it over, I might get a larger one. But icecream was good and this is probably all we needed. We ate every bite.

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

This works great, just don't be like me and assume you're smarter than the directions (lol)...follow the directions and you'll make some great stuff, for instance i put in peach (diet) yogurt straight from the carton and had the best frozen yogurt. Just be sure you have the thing assembled before you add your liquid to freeze, it's important to have the outer case on, I didn't realize that at first. It won't take you long to cook up some great custom flavors.

Fast, Easy, Tasty!

This is my first ice cream machine. I received it as a birthday 2 weeks ago and have already made 3 types of ice cream/frozen yogurt. It's easy to use and although not dishwasher safe, it cleans easily. The Freezer Bowl is a great idea, and is much more convenient than ice and salt. The ice cream does stick to the sides of the Freezer Bowl even though it says that it's non-stick. It is also a little noisy, but not too bad. Other than that, it's a wonderful maker and I've recommended it to many already.

Perfect for two

Love it. Put in the ingredients, turn it on and 20 minutes later you have ice cream. The only flaw would be if there were more than two of us. It can serve four but the serving would not be as large as I like. And I really like a lot of ice cream. Do not use metal utensils since they can scratch the bucket and the ice cream sticks to them when they get really cold. Do not store ice cream in bucket.

The ICE20 works fabulously. Makes ice cream in 20 minutes (after prep of putting the container in the freezer). Have made vanilla and (fresh) strawberry ice cream at it woorks great. If following the directions in the pamphlet leave out some of the mixture if you add strawberries to prevent overflow. The only problem I had was trying to clean the base without geting water inside the motor.

OMG. I made ice cream yesterday. It was so easy. Recipe called for 2 cups of cream but I only had one. I used soy milk instead of regular milk (used a little less because I didn't have 2 cups of cream. It was wonderful. I made vanilla & rather then adding nuts thru the top I recommend simply folding them (or choc chips) into the finished ice cream. The bowl stays pretty cold so I suggest waiting a bit before trying to wash (I tried wiping out bowl w a paper towel & the paper stuck to the bowl. It's like soft serve ice cream at first then turns into more solid ice cream after you put it into the freezer (if you can wait that long). :-). I want to try this with some low fat ingredients next. I highly recommend!

When my husband couldn't eat sugar anymore, ice cream was the hardest thing for him to give up. We saw this at a friend's house and tried making ice cream with agave nectar. He LOVES it! Yes, it's softer than store bought ice cream, but that's nothing bad, in my opinion. The ability to make any kind of ice cream I want is awesome! DO make sure you leave the bowl in the freezer long enough, or it won't work properly! If you can hear even the tiniest bit of slosh from the liquid inside, it won't be cold enough to freeze the cream correctly.

you must thoroughly chill the ice cream base before use.I use a big bowl filled with ice and water and another filled with the base,placed inside the big one. I also learned not to over fill, not more than three quarters it will not freeze. They have a real good recipe for premium chocolate ice cream

Too Loud

This machine does make ice cream. But it takes forever. Which would be OK except that the motor makes a really loud, irritating noise the whole time. Freezing the bowl is no big deal. You can just leave the clean bowl in the freezer all the time. But I find myself not wanting to use it.

Modern Technology Sometimes Works

It was different getting used to making ice cream without ice and salt. It makes really good soft ice cream, and it stays soft in the freezer, a definite plus. It's not as big as I expected, so had to cut the recipe so it wouldn't overflow. Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys homemade ice cream and enjoys making small amounts for themselves.

Very easy to add ingredients. Ice cream done in about 20 minutes. I keep freezer unit in freezer so it is always ready. Going to the store takes the most time for milk/cream etc.

Easy and convenient

This is a very easy to use ice cream maker. The ice cream churns pretty quickly for a "soft serve" consistency. If you like firmer ice cream just freeze the ice cream in a covered container for a few hours. Only drawback is if you would want to make back to back batches of ice cream, as you need to freeze the bowl for several hours prior to using again.

Bought it as a gift

I'm only giving this item 3 stars because we had to chizzle 1/2 inch of solid frozen product off the entire inside surface of the canister. For some reason it froze to the inside making the machine shut off before its alloted time frame for mixing was up. Once we chizzled the frozen portion out, and scooped out the soft "ice cream" we put it in another container, and froze it for an hour to get the soft-serve a little harder. However, had it not been for that, the machine was effiecient, and quiet, and becasue I bought this as a gift, her kids had blast watching the liquid turn into "ice cream". For the price this is a good buy, but I would avoid the recipe that involves chocolate pudding mix and milk...

Too easy to use, especially if you are trying to lose weight. Makes great ice cream, recommend purchasing extra freezer bowl, we did and speeds up production especially when making for more than 2 people.

This ice cream maker not only looks great in the kitchen but works fast and to perfection every time. In just 25 minutes we have great home-made ice cream, frozen yogurt, etc. Definitely keep the freezer part in your freezer for fast quality deserts. Easy open top makes last minute add-ins a snap.

Great Product

It is easy to use and handy. You do not have to go out and buy rock salt and ice. Just keep the bowl in the freezer and you are good to go. You can make dessert in no time at all.

This product works just a described. Mix up the ingredients, cool them down in your refrigerator and then pour them in the maker. In 25 minutes you have a tasty, soft-serve treat. If you want firmer ice cream or sorbet, you need to put it in your freezer for a couple of hours. You will want to keep the freezer portion of the maker in your freezer however, because it takes several hours for it to be frozen and ready to use.

Good machine for the money

VERY easy to use. Made the basic vanilla ice cream recipe found in the instruction guide but added some mini chocolate chips. The ice cream never really firmed up very well, but that may have been my fault (I should have chilled the 'custard' first). It was very tasty! I'm used to the old electric models with the ice and rock salt, so this could spoil me. :-)

Decent

I used the recipe in the manual for just plain vanilla ice cream and it came out WAY too creamy, which is probably a good thing for some. But I prefer my ice cream to be a little icy, which I haven't found a recipe yet, that does that. But besides that, this is a pretty good ice cream maker...it's quick and way easier than the old school ones.
