Makes great toast!

This toaster is a little pricey, but it's worth every penny. I purchased this toaster after reading reviews that said it toasted evenly on both sides -- something that seems to be lacking in most toasters these days. After using it for several weeks, I can testify that those claims of even toasting are valid. I haven't used it for bagels yet, but am impressed with the feature that toasts the cut side of the bagel while just warming the back.

good looking, sturdy toaster. i am still trying to find the right browning level on the dial, but it seems pretty even on both sides. i had a toaster before that would give you the option of raising it up higher after the bread toasts, so you are able to reach smaller items (i toast mini-pita), and this does not, so i play the pop-the-toast-high game. all in all, a good buy.

This is an attractive toaster that performs well. The wrap around bottom cord storage is awkward, and it would be better if the cord was separate and plugged into a receiver on the toaster.

After twelve years of toasters ranging from inexpensive to expensive toasters, we've finally found THE toaster to handle everything from diet bread to English muffins to soft bagels This toaster is marvelous, and after one use for any item, the controls are precise enough to turn out a perfect product every time. I bought this toaster based on the consumer reports recommendation. I have been very pleased with it. This is what a toaster should be. It makes toast and it does a great job time after time after time. As someone who will stand by the toaster and toast and eat an entire loaf or sourdough bread I can tell you that bring consistent is no small gear. This toaster delivers! Also love the arch underneath that lets me route the (much too short) chord from my coffee maker under the toaster.

"LOVE IT"

I have had this KitchenAid toaster for about three weeks now and I use it every morning. The "Bagel Button" is fantastic,no more burnt outsides! The "Warming Button" is also great for thawing a frozen slice of bread as well as reheating toast without burning it. It's very easy to keep clean due to the sturdy steel crumb tray that pulls out and covers the entire toasting area. The outside body of the toaster remains cool to the touch,even on the highest setting.It also looks great in my kitchen. "Love KitchenAid"

I like the sleek lines of the toaster and the easy cleaning, however, even on the highest setting the toast does not get very dark. I have to toast it on the second to highest setting and then retoast it on the lighest setting a second time.

It should be simple to make a toaster that just toast evenly and on both sides - this is probably our 4th in the last 10 years. None work like the very old Toastmaster toaster that could make spot on toast evenly done. So far this Kitchen Aid is as good or better than the others and should be for nearly $50.00. Hoping it continues to work as is!

Fine for bagels but not for toast

I got this toaster based off a consumer reports review. We have been having trouble getting toast that's evenly cooked. The toaster cooks fine, but we noticed that the element pattern is different on the bagel slice side vs the non bagel slice side. The toast is darker on the non bagel slice side. Even when selecting bagels vs toast, it still comes out two different colors. Irritating.

After extensive online research, I went with the KitchenAid 2 Slot 2 Slice Toaster KTT340OB. Unfortunately, I should have paid more attention to the negative comments, which were right on the money. The toaster doesn't toast evenly, or very well at all for that matter. If you're toasting more than 2 items, you're guaranteed the second batch will either be underdone or overdone, depending on where you set the dial.

Excellent toaster for both toast and bagels. You can toast the bagels on one side or both sides with the bagel switch, very versatile. First toasting is always good and evenly toasted. However, toasting of subsequent slices occasionally get toasted to much. But just turn down the heat level a little on subsequent slices.

This performed very poorly for us. This was the highest rated toaster by a non-profit consumer rating group, so it may have been just ours that was faulty. But it would not take the larger pieces of rye bread, so we did not want to just exchange it. It also seemed to take a long time and then the bread was under toasted. For muffins we had to stick a fork into the toaster to get them out. We ended up with a Breville four piece that we are extremely happy with. A bit more money, but worth it.

-Great little toaster. -Cool to the touch exterior (plastic). -Heats very well and is moderatley fast at toasting. -Crumb tray slides out the back and is very shallow, keep it emptied! -Bagel button works very well. -Fits english muffins, bagels and square style breads. Will not fit oval shaped breads as slots are square and limiting. Tried sticking the bread long side down but the toaster is not deep enough to toast the entire bread. -I can recommend this toaster on the above good qualities but if you want to toast longer slices of bread find a different toaster. We're keeping this one even with the small slot/depth issue.

It's just a toaster....

It's just a 2 slice toaster that can accomodate thick bread and rolls. The power cord is awkward in that it comes out of the bottom on either side of the toaster. Pick it up and move it and cord ends up cought under the front or back feet of the taoster.
