I use the product primerally to reheat food, coffee, leftovers; to defrost and simple cooking. The power is very impressisve. It is so much more efficient than my previous microwave. It takes less time to heat up; therefore it uses less electricity. Closing the door is a little on the noisy side but it is a tight fit. Display could be simplified. Too many options. I d0 like the reheat option though.

This microwave for a little over [$] was purchased to replaced another microwave which I paid over $300 for a year ago. It works great and there is no difference in the looks or quality of this oven versus the more expensive one which I had to replace.

Really powerful unit and got it at a great price. Couldn't be happier with this purchase.

I primarily use this microwave to heat frozen meals, popcorn and reheat leftovers. It heats consistently throughout all food, is quiet and sleek in appearance/design. I have relied on GE appliances for many years, and this particular product proves why I keep coming back.

I bought this because of the interior size and power - it turned out this was the exact same model as I had before, so there was no learning curve as far as using it (although since this is newer it is a bit more powerful than the old). The one this is replacing was purchased in 1996, so I'm more than satisfied with how long it worked, and hope this one will be as reliable!

The power of the unit seems much greater than our old one that was rated higher. It heats very evenly! It is great for defrosting. The only drawbacks are the buttons took a little while to get use to, now I love them, and the popcorn button (timer)is made for small personal bags. We have to add time to pop larger bags.

Heats foods quickly - had to adjust from previous microwave times. Attractive and just the right size for two people.

Baked potatoes are a snap-youdo not have to time them-the sensor knows how long to cook them regardless of how many you put in. I use it for baked and now even mashed - just cook and mash.

I especially like the ability to start the cooking process by touching a number that matches the minutes.

We purchased this for the office and it compares to what we have a home. A really nice microwave for the price!!

I would rate this higher if it lasted longer. This is our third one and each has gone barely over the year's warranty it has. However, given its good Consumer Reports rating [...], I rate it acceptable overall. As for cooking and heating we've no quarrels whatsoever, it's a fast, convenient and easy to use unit. Longevity of service is our only real complaint.

We bought this microwave for our office and it works wonderful! Small compact design, but still powerful enough to service 12 people! A great value for the money.

satisfied with product

A recent Consumer Reports rated this one a Best Buy, so that was good enough for me. It's faster, more powerful, with more cooking options than my old Sharp m-wave, which was a really good one and lasted 10 years. Because the new GE has more features, it's a little complicated to operate at times; but the clear instruction manual helps a lot. I'm a satisfied borderline delighted customer.

This was my first foray into microwaves with sensor cooking and I'm very pleased. I completed a lot of research and found this to be the most reasonable microwave for a starter model with the sensor cooking ability. The controls do take a bit of getting used to - I often hit an autocook button when I want to do something with a timed cook, but it's just going to take a little time to get used to it. Very pleased!

Does the job, easy to use, but a little noisy and doesn't come in a stainless finish.

Need something heated quickly? Just click a button and you're heating from anywhere from 30 seconds and up. Good power heats quicker than food recommendations. Highly recommended.

I love the ease of use of this microwave. Very easy to operate and there are a lot of time saving features as well. One button start up for several different food groups as well as leftovers. All in all I am quite pleased with this microwave. Nice features for a very affordable price.

I've had this microwave for three weeks, so I'm still getting used to it. It's much more powerful than what I used before. This one cooks microwave popcorn in 1:35, any longer and it's burnt. I use it mostly for defrosting and reheating foods. It defrosts quickly. Reheating is pretty even.

This oven is a little on the large side for the countertop, but it heats evenly and quickly. I especially like the timer that keeps time even when the microwave is cooking: great feature!

Love this machine. Very powerful, heats so much faster than our last microwave; controls are relatively intuitive, easy to learn and practical; feels like its designed with the consumer in mind; beautiful looking machine that fits in perfectly in our white kitchen; quiet; we love being able to control the volume of the beeping; it gently reminds you when you've forgotten you left food in it. Good overall, but the Start/Cook button needs to be relocated to a more ergonomic position relative to the numbered buttons, and to look different than the other buttons as well. At present, it's in with the auto function buttons, which makes it a pain for guests unfamiliar with the GE layout. A clever detail is the indentations in the interior walls, allowing slightly larger plates to fit & turn

Working very well

So far this microwave has been a pleasant surprise. It cooks faster, and more quietly, than my previous Panasonic and has many more features, most of which I have yet to try out.

This microwave has been an excellent upgrade to my 23 year old previous model. I would have bought it sooner had I been aware of the newer functions.

I have been very pleased with this microwave.

I haven't used the microwave much, but for what I have used it for it works well. I did try sensor cooking for a potato and it worked. You may have to adjust cooking times downward if you are used to a less powerful microwave. A couple of minor quibbles: the door is noisy as previously mentioned and the white is not a pure white, it has a slight grey to it. Not a big deal, but for me it is next to a white acrylic sink that is a bright white and the difference in shades is noticable.

This model GE microwave rates high by Consumer reports and I owned a GE microwave for 21 years with no problems so I picked a GE top rated product to replace my 21 year old microwave.

I Love this microwave. It has meet and exceeded all of my expections. It replaces our 10+ years old 900 watt microwave(which I thought I really liked). This microwave is noticably stronger, quieter, sleeker in design, and heats the food much more evenly. It is roughly the same size, slightly smaller, and holds the same amount. If there is a "con", it is the display. In an effort to be "easy" it is somewhat confusing to get used to at first. I love the "sensor" cooking. It is the first time my reheated beverage(I HAVE to have my HOT coffee) is actually too hot to drink without boiling over. I was worried about the white finish(and keeping it clean), so far that is a breeze, It wipes clean easily.

The only problem so far is the bacon doesn't cook as evenly as I would like. Some pieces are done and others are not.

Order, delivery, and setup were easy and fast. Overall a good performer, especially for re-heating leftovers. This is an 1100-watt microwave, so have to shorten cooking times for most recipes which are written for 600 or 700-watt microwave ovens. Only minor annoyance is that closing the door is noisy, especially in the early morning when trying to be quiet.

Much more than "met expectations". This product out performs other micro wave ovens that we have owned or operated that were much more expensive. Cudos to all those responsible for this product.

This machine defrosts and heats more evenly than any other I have owned. It is smaller than other full size models which I needed to fit my space. I am very pleased.

It serves the purposes for which I usually use a microwave: reheating coffee (at this altitude a cup of coffee cools before you finish it), reheating leftovers, defrosting what I forgot to take out of the freezer, cooking bacon with relatively little mess, heating certain kinds of breads, cooking fish (mostly trout filets).

We got this microwave because it was one of the recommended on Consumer Reports (within our budget, they recommended the $220 model of this microwave, but we didn't think we needed a microwave THAT nice). It's very spacious, we're very happy with it. I haven't had anything to put in there that's big enough to even come close to using all the space provided. What I've reheated seemed to reheat evenly (with a turn 1/2 way through of course). My wife noticed that on the microwaveable popcorn bags it actually says NOT to use the popcorn button on microwaves, but we use the popcorn button on this and it produces a near-perfect bag of popcorn. I haven't tried two in a row, but I know my parents had a similar (if not same) model, and the second bag of popcorn would almost always burn if you don't give it a minute to cool off first. I almost gave it a 4-star, the only reason I would give it a 4-star, and it's really my fault, is that I'm just not used to the quick-start (when I want to microwave something for 45 seconds I go to press 4 and 5, but then when I press 4 it puts 4 minutes on the timer and starts microwaving automatically... I'm used to pressing 4, 5, start. So it's actually an improvement, but not what I'm used to). Otherwise, this microwave really is perfect (as long as you have the countertop space, because like I said, it IS spacious). On the other hand, I can't see how I lived without the 'add 30 sec' button (actually I didn't, I had a microwave's 3 button wear out)
