Hoover Sidewinder Electric Hand Vacuum Cleaner - S1156

I USE THE SIDEWINDER WEEKLY TO VACUME PET HAIR OFF OF FURNITURE. ITS A GREAT VACUME. I HAD TO REPLACE THE DRIVE BELT IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL BELT WAS TO LOSE.

I wish I could have an attachment that allowed me to vacuum tight places, like inside the car between the seats, etc.

The belt on ours broke on the 2nd use and I am having difficulty finding a replacement. Can you help me to find a new belt so we can really give this vacuum a good try? Thanks

Produc is great for getting into corner and places that vacuum clears cant. I use it for a tall wall unit as a well as small area rugs.

So far, no minuses with this product. Amazing on pet hair.

I mainly use the vacuum on carpet steps and rugs for removing cat hair and am pleased with the performance so far. For the price, the product does a nice job and am hoping it remains that way for a long time. I have heard one of the negative's of this product is getting replacement parts such as the filter,roller brush and the belt

Having 2 dogs 2 cats - I have my share of pet hair. The carpeted steps to our new finished lower level gets the worst. I have been looking for an easy to use, good suction and a long cord to do the entire steps at once. In reading the reviews of different ones on the market, I decided to get the Hoover sidewider. I love it! It is exactly what I was looking for and the price was lower than I expected when I started my search. I use it on both my lower level steps and my stairs to the upper level too.

Purchased the vacuum to do the stairs in our new home. Works great!

I use this little vac on a daily basis in my line of work as well as for personal use. I am a housecleaner and use it at 3 or more homes a day. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone. It is wonderful for carpeted stairs as well as furniture and mattress's. It is heavy duty as a few of my clients have sent it flying down the stairs accidently and it keeps on working. The clean up is extemely easy as well.

We bought this to replace an older Hoover model that had been discontinued. We looked at some other brands but they just didn't have the features that the Hoover did. Vacuum attachments from earlier model 1137 fit this one. This fact should be advertised, especially if these attachments are currently available.

I use this product everyday, and it doesn't get any better. I love it!

I have always used Hoover vacs my entire life and they are the best, I tried my daughter's Dyson she bought, but did not like it at all, to much hype for that vac, Hoover is the ONE!!!!

I like this hand vac a lot, if you are looking for something powerful and don't care about the cord, i recommend this.I had looked for this kind of powerful hand vac, easy to clean also, i'd buy this model again.

I clean the carpeted steps and the upholstery more often than I did before getting the Sidewinder.

Easy to use. Light. Does a great job at cleaning stairs. Picks up animal hair well. And gets into corners easily.

The Hoover Sidewinder is the second one of its kind that I have owned. The model was previously called the Twist & Vac and I still use that item to this date. The only complaint I have for this unit is one that is also common on other appliances similar to it. Where the cord exits the body of the unit the cord insulation wears through thus prompting a need to have the cord replaced. That process amounts to the cost of a new unit. Everything else works fine on the unit so it is a pity to have to replace it because Hoover chooses not to add some kind of thicker reinforcement for the insulation at the problem spot I have described. The repair is rather involved. The unit is very user friendly and light as well as easy to maintain.

Convenient head brush that swivels for you, lightweight with a very long cord to get up any staircase. Does a decent job cleaning, but the big problem is that with thick, new carpet it just can't handle the job. At my place we just put in new carpet and the brush stops on that carpet and just can't handle it, but with our older, more worn carpet it handles with like a champ. Does a good job on furniture also and you can't beat the price. So for the price it's a good product. Decent is a good word to describe it.

Light weight, flexible power head. Great for cleaning stairs, furniture, back of SUV. Better than cordless in terms of power and not running down.

Long cord is great. Powerful suction (pickup) excellent. Gets into tight spaces. To do it right, you can't just open and dump. You have to dig out the center hole the filter makes. By the way buy plenty of belts, for if you wrap the brush with long hair or string you WILL burn a flat spot on the belt (love that burning rubber smell)and render it useless(easy to do), if you don't keep an eye on the brush and cut off what ever you wrap. Still I would recommend as good buy

This is just a dream. Easy to use and light to hold. Powerful and quick. This is perfect for the compulsive cleaner of for the reluctant child. Great item.

I was suprised how powerful it is. Far better than the battery operated units whose batteries go bad in a short time and can't be replaced. I am happy to have come across this Hoover Unit.[...]
