Disappoited in Cuisinart!

BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The piercing pin does not work effectively most of the time and actually cracks the egg open....what a mess I had the first time. Now I've given up rather than just waste eggs....looks like I've wasted money purchasing this Egg Cooker. Could someone tell me if they have been successful in what was thought to be a simply process? If the piercing pin worked, the cooker would be a pleasure, I'm sure. Maybe I have a defective beaker pin.

After writing in about piercing pin, I decided to call Customer Service to find out the following, which I don't think they mention in the booklet. There is a sheath over the piercing pin, which simply needs to be pulled off and Walla!, wonderful piercing pin.

Getting eggs just right can be frustrating.Since it is just my husband and myself it is the perfect size. Clean up is so easy and it is a good storage size for a smaller kitchen.

It is so hard to get perfect timing on the various types of eggs desired. This product eliminates the need to guage the timing for all manner of eggs. I noticed on one egg it cracked a bit, using the needle, but the egg came out fine. Could be the "needle" needs to be a tad thinner, but one can use like a small cushion pin which works fine. I would recommend this product to everyone. It is nice looking and unobtrusive sitting on one's countertop.

Looks great on the counter, my other one started looking so old (another brand) and I had to keep it hidden. This one is nice, and matches my stainless appliances. Everyone commnets on how nice it is to have an Egg Cooker, but I must be the only one. Might be a good gift item!

It is a little hard to clean up after poached eggs, but I have just started using it and once I get used to it, I think there will be no problem. My husband likes to eat as soon as he wakes up. I like to lounge with coffee for awhile. He likes eggs everyday and the egg cookeer makes my life a lot easier............................

Easy and quick

I like to eat soft boiled eggs, but wasn't eating them that often because I usually only wanted 1-2 eggs, and hated having to boil a pot of water for just 1 or 2 eggs. This cooker is pretty convenient, because it only needs a little water, and it comes with a nice measuring cup that tells you how much water to add, based on how many eggs and how cooked you want them. It takes about 8-9 minutes to cook 2 soft boiled eggs, which I guess is not bad. The only con is that since the lid is stainless steel, it can get a little hot after cooking, so make sure you grasp the plastic handles and avoid touching the lid itself. OVerall, a nice find and good product!

Top of the line product and is featured in finer kitchen and major deptment stores. It poaches eggs right every time or hard boils seven to right hardness for salads. We keep ours out for breakfast next to toaster for easy breakfast. Only downside becareful opening lid steam can burn do to handle locations!

Cooks like a Champ!!!

Some say it is easier to boil the eggs in a pan, but I say this method takes out the guess work and makes a more consistent product. I did find that cleaning some parts were a little of a hassle when cooking with "Hard" water. The auto shut off is ingenious, really protects you from those absent minded moments.
