BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to "play" with it. I made chocolate chip cookies in a jiffy. I've been wanting to make my own pizza dough which I make from scratch. This will cut down a lot of time. My family gets together on the holidays to make tamales and I intend to use it to mix the masa and grind the meat for them.

Pros:	Capacity, Heavy Duty, Works Quietly, Even Mixing, Looks
Cons:	I had flour dust all over
Best Uses:	Will mix masa for tamales, Will grind meat, Cakes & Cookies

I make banana bread for my husband every week - 4 loaves - as well as all the other incidental uses during the week.

I am a graduate of culinary school. I was looking for a mixer that could handle large multiple recipes. I research many mixers and found myself going back to the viking. I did end up purchasing the 7 quart and I just love it! It is a little heavy but I don't mind it at all. I expected it to be heavy as it is a professional mixer. If you love to bake and bake often, I highly recommend this mixer.
