Viking is way over rated! This blender was a gift only 2 years ago...hasn't had much use at all...but the lid has cracked in several different places...unfortunetly..it only comes with a one year warranty against defects. After already purchasing a Viking cooktop...that had problems and Viking didn't stand behind...I would never purchase a Viking product again!

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
