I've bought this water filter from ABT for some years now, always after first checking competitors' pricing net with S&H. After all, it's the same filter no matter who you buy it from, and it is the one you buy because it is the one that fits your refrigerator. ABT ships promptly, and the filter arrives in a few days. It is very easy to install, and lasts about a year as I replace it when the replace-filter light goes on. The water tastes fine to drink, cook with, or make ice from. That I am a repeat ABT customer of many years for this product says it all!

This filter does exactly what it is supposed to do, and does it quite well. There are no 'extra' flavors in our drinking water or ice.
The reason I only gave it four stars is the confusing recommended frequency of replacement. I've been using these filters for several years and they used to come with the instruction to change them once a year. Now, the same filter is supposed to be changed every six months??? Did the technology change, or did some marketing genius figure out a way to make us spend twice as much on our water filters each year?
Your guess is as good as mine. (By the way, I'm still only using 1 filter per year, and it works just fine.)
