Cool breeze!

It does cool the room, however a bit uneven, besides the noise, which could be worse it is a good product.

Noisy, But Works Very Well

I purchased this model to replace a 12-year-old 10,000 BTU GE unit, located in the living room. Old air conditioner was worn-out, provided negligible cooling, and cost me mega-$$$ to run. Bottom line, the old unit reached the end of its useful life, and needed to be replaced.In any event, this new air conditioner is a revelation in terms of performance. While somewhat noisy, it cools my entire apartment (a large one-bedroom unit, approx. 700 square feet) with ease. And the digital controls are incredible -- you set the desired temperature, and the air conditioner takes care of the rest. The ambient room temperature is displayed as well!TIP: Purchase a GE unit with electronic controls (i.e., models AJCQxxxx) rather than the old rotary controls. For the [$] price difference, you are afforded significantly better precision (pick a desired temperature rather than fiddle with a nebulous "cooler/warmer" dial with no temperature markings), three fan speeds rather than two, a timer (unit starts and/or stops after a set period of time), display of the current room temperature, and a remote control.
