GE Countertop Black Microwave - JE1460BF

I am the husband and all I generally use the microwave for is popcorn. My wife uses it for left overs and defrosting. She loves it.

This is the second of these ovens I have owned, the first having fallen victim to my own inattention and a large bowl of rice. It wasn't pretty.Anyway, the first one performed admirably for the two years I've owned it, and the second is thus far identical to the first. Heating is fast and even, the power settings work as they should, and this is the only microwave I've used with a "popcorn" setting that perfectly pops nearly every bag of microwavable popcorn put into it, regardless of bag size or brand.Pretty cool [...]

Above expectations! Includes almost all options most people would like to have, such as sensors, timer (can be used while microwave is is using another function), add 30 secondS button to cooking time. Checked out all functions after opening and all work perfectly.Sensors appear to be very accurate. Excellent product at a very low price.

ABT provided excellent price,[...]. Have oredered several products from ABT and always found them to be most reliable ...

Very powerful oven. Easy to use controls. Better than I expected.

The unit was purchased today at ABT. We took the trip (80+ miles round trip)to look at new appliances that will be selected during an upcomming remodel. This unit was purchased to tide us over as our current, 8 year old GE Profile OTR failed and is not worth the repair cost. The unit is built in China and the cosmetic quality is not very good. Defects include a small piece of material trapped in the door glass, a paint or ? splatter on the lower door front and minor iregular sheet metal edges on the left side. If the trip back to ABT was less I would return the unit for refund. The ABT experience was great. This was our first visit to the facility. We were very pleased with the service and selection. Not very pleased with GE's current quality control.

i like the express buttons.

I primarily use the microwave for frozen vegetables and and popcorn. The popcorn and other specialty buttons are useful and accurate and take a lot of the guess work out of the cleaning.

Nice design and all the features we need. Cooks and defrosts as well as any microwave I've used. The footprint is a bit big but not too bulky for counter use.

We had another GE microwave that lasted us over ten years so we decided to try purchasing another one. The controls are similar which makes it easy to use. I read another reveiw that this was a Consumer Reports best buy. I like that I can use the timer on the microwave and it will work even if I am cooking something. It is quieter than my older model. I think it is a keeper and well worth the money!

I definetly would recommend this product to other people. The only problem I have is the door does not open wide enough. The door to our old GE microwave opened almost parallel to the oven, this one does not.

Its a great unit, just a little louder than expected. But for the price you really can't complain.

Everything is great about this oven except trying to display the power level once you have started cooking. Once the turntable starts turning, make sure you remember what power level you set the oven for. Displaying the 'power level' again is time consuming and tedious as it prints out, one character at a time, "T H E C U R R E N T P O W E R L E V E L I S ______________' - each character taking 1 second to print. This makes the display take roughly 20 to 30 seconds to read what power level you are using. MUCH BETTER would be: 1) Hit power level button while cooking and 2) have it display 'P 10' immediately (assuming you are using Power Level 10).

First unit failed after five days. Reordered another unit of this same model--made very easy by ABT's efficient policies and practices. Second unit has been working very much to our satisfaction for three weeks. Impressed with power, speed, and convenience. It is a bit noisier than an above-range GE model of similar power owned previously. Used primarily for reheating or warming leftovers, and quick heating of foods packaged for microwave heating. Functions and controls easy to master, in part because we owned a similar GE model for 10+ years.

This was a replacement for a Kenmore that burned out. [...] There was a unusual noise that required a call to GE's service line. They sent a technician within 2 days who found a small plastic piece on the inside of the oven, which he removed. That did the trick and everything is fine. Love the presets and "add-a-minute" feature.

Does everything well. Still learning controls. Basically I re-heat already cooked foods so power controls are important. No complaints other than stress marks on the plastic door from manufacture. Great deal especially for the price.

I bought it because it was highly rated on Consumer Reports. Heats evenly though much more powerful than what microwave instructions are set for. Timed cooking requires an extra step to set. I'm used to just pressing the time and then the power but with this, you have to remember to press Time Cook first. Overall, a pretty good microwave.

This is a great microwave I can't believe I kept my old as long as I did. Now with my new one I can see everything I was missing. This was a consumer report best buy and I can see why. Great priced microwave also.

It has been working flawlessly for about six weeks with light to moderate usage. No complaints.

I use this microwave everyday ,reheat food,warm the milk and tea, very easy to clean, the only thing i don't like is when i heat the food 1 min. and the food not warm enough i want to heat another minutes I have to press Off/clear button first then press another minute to reheat. my old microwave didn't have to, once the minutes stop I can press another minutes to reheat.

Consumer Reports rated this product as a best buy, so I decided to order it. It has ideal features at a great price and fits our needs perfectly.

Really heats frozen food very well. May be too powerful - check food as it cooks via sensor so that it doesn't overheat. For example, if it cooks for 5 minutes, 4:30 might be the time it starts to overcook.

5th microwave I've owned. Loudest by far, with intermittent vibration rattle that made it sound like it was about to come apart. Something was probably not tightened properly during assembly. I returned it for a refund and am reluctant to ever by one again, even though I still own another by the same maker that works fine.

Great product, heats frozen food evenly, perfect with popcorn, very powerful, quick. Only setback is I had to get used to using 30 second increments but since the product is good at detecting when the food is done, I don't need to manually adjust as much as I have with other microwaves

easy to use. Much better at heating than our last microwave. Picked this one because of consumer reports. So far they have not been wrong! :)

Cooking for 1 to 6 minutes only requires pressing the appropriate number button. Adding 30 seconds while cooking or cooking for just 30 second just requires pressing the add 30 button. This was a replacement for an earlier model with this same feature. The earlier one died after about 5 years. The new one has a greatly improved timer feature that beeps every 30 seconds until you acknowledge it -- just like the beeper that announces that the food is done.

[...] rated this model a "best buy", and after comparing this to other similarly priced models and using it for several weeks, I completely agree.

Great Product and a great price

Quick and easy. Large variety of choices to cook. Sensor or exact time cook; but express buttons are the best. Allows for fancy as well as practical cooking. I am very happy with it and it is easy to learn.

I use it for cooking & reheating. The sensor cooking is great - no more guess work. Be careful on baby food, though. Twenty seconds makes it too hot!

my 22 yr old Quasar is still a workhorse, but I decided to upgrade for a turntable and higher wattage. the sensors and "self-teaching" display are awesome. hope it lasts "forever" like my old one. The Consumer Reports review steered me to the best!

Good microwave, very powerful and large capacity. Also matches well with our GE Profile refrigerator.

I am completely satisfied

Takes up a little more space than our old unit but has a lot more space inside. More powerful, but also louder than our old GE.

I love the microwave oven. It has been easy to learn to use. So far I am not disappointed.

I am very happy with it, the only thing is when cooking the spinning tray inside sometimes pauses then spins pauses then spins, etc. It doesn't seem to effect anything though and I love it.

Excellent value, very happy with the price [...]. Just reccomended it to my sister.

Previous microwave had 16" tray, I miss that. This is great for its size.

Excellent! Has all the features I wanted at an affordable price -[...]. Some of the little things were missing in my last microwave, but this one has them: kitchen timer, adjustable "beep" volume, quits beeping when you open the door, optional reminder beep, add 30 sec. feature, sensor cook, pause function. met my expectations

This is much more powerful than our old microwave (c. 1983) and has a sensor that works well for most foods. We've had a couple of things boil over and you have to be careful defrosting some things, but we are still getting used to it so maybe it won't be a problem for long. We like all of the one touch controls, but the buttons are hard to read compared to our old one.

Very powerful. instant on buttons and sensor is a plus. does not hold a 13x9 dish. overall a great product.

I purchased this microwave oven one month ago and have been very pleased. I especially like the "Reheat" feature. Just push one button and the rest is automatic, no stopping to check temperature and when you take the food out it is perfect. The only downside is the unlighted display panel. Its hard to see in low light.

This replaced a larger, very old Amana RadarRange. While the older unit was quieter, we really enjoy the turntable, more even heating, faster heating, and the sophisticated sensor that automatically stops based on the amount of steam produced (particularly nice for heating drinks). I have never liked GE's user interface but it really is just a matter of getting used to it. Many other manafacturers have a similar user interface.

It's great. Full size for the Counter top. Not so compact like newer ones. Makes cooking easier for larger items. Great value for the money!

Good value for the price [...]. Only wish the door was pull-open style and the pad was more illuminating. Everything else very nice!

Consumer reports has had this microwave ranked #1 for anything in this size and price and they were right. The microwave is magnificent! Easy to use, good size, and moderately priced[...].

I don't use a microwave often; and though this is totally different from my old nuke, I hardly notice the difference. That was my goal. I researched [...], and then shopped online[...]. I have been pleased so far.

The best thing about this microwave is the presets . You just push 1 and it cooks for 1 minute! So convenient. It is attractive and compact yet spacious. We love it

The microwave cooks much hotter than our previous microwave, so we can cook frozen meals several minutes less than before. It also does a great job defrosting frozen meats: ground beef, chicken, pork and steaks.
