Easy to load, leaves dishes super clean

I had originally bought a Maytag dw at a similar price point, and I actually sent it back and selected this dw instead. I had previously had a Whirlpool though didn't realize it at the time b/c it was sold under the Kenmore brand. It was a great dw and the only drawback was the noise. After sending the Maytag back, I realized that what I really wanted was my old dishwasher back and that's what I got except this one has a deeper tub, and I couldn't be happier. I wish there were two things I had known after reading all the dw reviews: 1. Don't underestimate how hard it will be to get used to a new dish placement configuration. If you buy a new brand of dw, you may find you have a hard time figuring out how to best load it to fit all your dishes. 2. Don't be put off by the silverware rack in the door. It is a great space saver and the silverware comes out perfectly clean. The silverware compartments seem small but it's more than sufficient for a family of 4 and the smaller size ensures that you can't stick too many pieces in one section that will all stick together and not come clean (this is what happened with the Maytag). Don't be put off by the lack of a utensil rack. I place my utensils on top of the cups/mugs and everything comes out 100% clean. I did this with my old dw as well and never had to rewash anything. The only drawback to this dw is that it is noisier than the Maytag (not enough to drown out a conversation but not whisper quiet either) but with the timer delay, you can set it to run when the noise will not be a big deal.

Cons:	Small silverware rack

Deep tub allows for tall items on both upper and lower racks. Rack height is not adjustable, but it doesn't need to be. On-door silverware rack could is on the small side, and won't hold long/wide items. The only way I found to load larger serving spoons, spatulas, etc. is to lay them on the top rack. Bottom toe-kick panel is not very attractive - just a painted metal panel with visible screws. Overall, a great value! This dishwasher is quiet, and cleans 1000% better than the 10-year old unit it replaced.
