Looks like it will use 2 wicks per season at $15 per filter. Take that into cost consideration.

I placed the unit in a hallway away from living or bedrooms because of the fan noise. It still humidifies the condo and goes through approx 3 gallons/day.
Because humidifiers work almost nonstop during the winter, it's a bit early to give a solid review.

Easy to fill. Quiet on the low setting. Does the job while the wood stoves are burning. My first Essick Humidifier was lost in a flood and I was pleased to have found the identical replacement. It was shipped in record time and the website was easy to navigate.

Needed to address dry winter air in my 1700 sq ft condo - just relocated from CA to MI;-} This simple mechanism is a bit tacky, arrived with a notice "if you have any problems with this product please cal . . . before returning it to the retaler. I needed to, and did . . also received assist from Abt. (they offered return, I got it to work, so kept it) should have just gotten a small humidifer for bedroom - this one is a lot of work to fill, clean . . . and without impressive results. ABT service and support is the best! This was my own poor selection.

Product setup instructions are unclear. I worked with the manufacturer who was helpful but they were not able to help me over the phone. The person I spoke with, although very nice, had a thick accent and we had difficulty communicating effectively. The unit is now working and seems o.k. I think it's poorly made but is working. The manufacturer sent me a part we thought was faulty for no charge only to find out that the problem was much less complicated.

Service and delivery comments:

When having problems getting unit to work I was told that I would have to repack it and bring it personally to Abt for help. This is extremely disappointing to me because, first, living in Chicago I see and Abt delivery truck almost daily. Why would I have to shlep in a unit when you could have picked it up? You are known for excellent service. If I had bought the unit from elsewhere in the U.S. I would have been out of luck for help. Second, if Abt is so service-oriented, why didn't you put someone familiar with the products you carry on the phone to help me to get it to operate? Instead of all of this hassle (not your reputation but for me it now is), I just paid my handyman to get it to operate. I would never recommend Abt to anyone I know because of your failure to be helpful. And, by the way, it was a fix that could have been done over the phone.

i only used it once but once winter starts im sure it wil get a workout.its not too loud,just sounds like a small fan.so far im happy with it.

Very difficult to fill. Made of lightweight material, so even on wheels, when it was full it was difficult to move. Also, there is a small hole at the point of maximum filling (probably to prevent overfilling) and when it is moved water spills out of the hole. The only way to avoid that would be to only fill 1/2 full. Never ran it, just returned, because I knew it would be difficult to use.
