The AVR-5805MK2 is the second version of the world’s first receiver with 10 built-in 170-watt amplifiers, providing up to 22 channels of surround sound. The AVR-5805MK2 has been given added functionality to expand on the home theater experience for ultimate enjoyment.

Boasting an astounding 170-watts x 10 channels of ultra-clean power and exclusive THX® Ultra2 processing, the AVR-5805MK2 makes the best possible use of all your speakers with the widest variety of entertainment sources. With its groundbreaking multiform flexibility, the AVR-5805MK2 delivers staggeringly intense, dynamic home theater sound for up to four different sources in four different rooms simultaneously.
To enhance the home theater experience we have added HDMI 1080p switching capability for easy HD viewing. This switching upgrade will allow high end players like the Denon DVD-5910CI, HD or Blu-ray players, or set top boxes with high definition digital signals to be switched and output through the HDMI monitor output port. Also we have added analog to HDMI video conversion in conjunction with the Faroudja video scalar so that non-Macrovision analog video sources can be scaled to 1080p and output through the HDMI monitor port. With the addition of analog to HDMI video conversion, OSD information can now be displayed from most video sources. To keep up with the excitement of Internet music, new Internet radio capability lets you listen to hundreds of possible sources through the Ethernet port on the AVR-5805MK2, using Windows PlaysForSure certified for streaming technology enabling you to control your audio files through a P.C. Web browsing for setup and control has also been included for added versatility.

The New DDSC (Dynamic Discrete Surround Circuit)- Digital is a high-quality surround sound reproduction circuit designed by DENON, and forms the core of the design concept that DENON pursues for all its A/V amps: to faithfully reproduce the original intent of content producers. DENON has succeeded in developing a fully discrete design for the New DDSC-Digital in which high-performance ICs are used in independent blocks to form a signal processor that reproduces surround sound, and the discrete design ensures that all channels are endowed with identical response and quality of sound. - New 32-bit floating point DSP

The latest high-accuracy 24-bit/192-kHz D/A converter has been employed for the audio DAC. Since the 10 speaker terminals can be assigned to any channel, the AVR-5805 can be used to enjoy home theater entertainment in the following configurations: - One dynamic 9.1-channel surround system in a single room
- 5.1-channel theater environments in two different rooms, both operating simultaneously
- Multi-zone system: a 7.1-channel theater in the main room, a 2.1-channel environment in a second room, and a monaural environment in a small third room.
- "Bi-amp" system: Front (L/R) and Center speakers are bi-wired in a 7.1-channel theater to improve playback quality in the front for enhanced listening enjoyment.
