I had been excited to find this product, it offered the basic idea of what I wanted, at a much more affordable price than competing machines. However, after a lot of frustration with the operating instructions AND multiple breakdowns, including defective replacement parts shipped from the distributor, I have returned it to the vendor from whom I purchased it and paid the difference to get the more expensive machine, made by another manufacturer.
I will say that, if yours works/if you get one that works, you can probably be happy with it. Reviewers who complain about wrinkled clothes might try doing smaller loads -- which worked for me -- and using fabric softener, if they don't already.
But my bottom line is, I had too much trouble (multiple machines!) to recommend this to anyone.

We've been using Artiston since April 2007 and so far we're satisfied with our choice. Let's see in a few months. Laud spinning cycle. I wouldn't call it noisy though.[...]

Do I love this washer/dryer? No, love is too strong. I love the IDEA of this product, but Ariston's implementation is not excellent. The manual is not good at clarifying why I would use some of the features. The user interface relies on a rotary dial, which is an old-fashioned way of operating a washer or dryer and does not reflect the capability of a modern digitally controlled appliance.I have had some reliability trouble [...].However, the Ariston is considerably lower in cost than a similar [...]product, and once you have played with it to understand it's quirks, you can learn to appreciate it.For many people I would recommend this to, I might say, wait for the next version: maybe they will update the interface and polish up the manual. One specific suggestion: why can't I set the start delay to six hours (the only times offered are 1, 3, 9 and 12)?

Great Combo Machine

Cons:

Dryer Wrinkles, Small Drum, Not So Quiet |
|
Pros:
|
No Vent Required, Energy Water Efficient, Fair Price, Washes Well, Dries Well |
I have had this machine for one year and two months. It washes and dries very well. It is a little louder than I would like, but not extremely loud. No repairs required at this point.
As with all euro sized combo machines, the drum is small and doesn't allow large items or large loads to tumble dry without wrinkling. I pull items prone to wrinkling, such as dress shirts and cotton slacks, out after the high speed spin when they are almost dry and just hang them up. They are usually dry in two hours. This avoids wrinkling.
If you don't have room for two machines or don't have venting, this is a great little machine. Contrary to common perception with combo machines, this one does get your clothes completely dry. While it takes a little longer than a standard dryer, it doesn't take that long.
Not bad, not perfect but worth the cost!

Not so good for delicates, Wrinkles wrinkles wrinkle |
This is pretty good item, we bought it because we just did not have the space for standard machines. It works pretty smoothly, is very very quiet and the directions are pretty clear for use.
Things we are having issues with, stuff gets terribly wrinkled so be prepared to do more ironing than you used to. Delicates are not a good idea in this machine, not so much for the wash function but the drying.
The last issue is while the the instructions are pretty clear they leave some info out we've had the maching go a little nuts and just wash one load over and over again and we couldn't figure out why. It finally stopped and hasn't happened since but still! ANd we are having some problems figuring out how to use the dry function or the wash function but not the other.
This machine is worth the price and is better than regular laundrymat trips but as with all of these combo models has a few bugs you need to be wary of.

This is a great washer/dryer combo if that is all you have room for in your place. The extra rise cycle won't stop without a manuel intervention, which is kind of silly that it doesn't tell you this in the manuel. Otherwise this is a great appliance to have with not much room. It has a great dryer that doesn't take to long to dry things as long as you don't overload the washer.
