A Good Machine

I am very pleased with this machine and the matching dryer. I have owned it since 4/07 and I am just having a problem now in 3/09. Not sure what the problem is yet. I will let you know how the warranty paid off. My few complaints: 1) The door locks as soon as you press start 2)Other than the "Quick Wash" cycle...the others take a little long. 3) I wish the knobs read Hot, Cold, Warm...instead of Normal, Color, Heavy Soil etc. Otherwise, overall a good machine. It fit nicely under my countertop in my bathroom. It is a small machine but fits a decent amount of clothes. (we were only two people until my two college age nieces moved in) which could be why I am now having trouble.

VERY NICE FIRST WASH WITH CLOTHES ALMOST DRY AFTER THE CYCLE, BUT A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER THE UNIT BROKE DOWN WITH THE ELECTRONIC START BUTTON STICKING IN THE IN POSITION, WITH NO WAY TO RETRIEVE IT, SO NEXT WEEK WITH THE SERVICE SCHEDULED, I GUESS WE WILL SEE HOW IT GOES WITH WASH 2 THRU ?????

We love this machine. We had to find something small enough to fit underneath stairs. We only do 1 to 2 loads a week and so for my husband and I it's perfect. It holds more than it looks like it would. It's not loud, and it washes pretty fast. It's a great machine so far.

We did a TON of research on washers before finally selecting this machine. There were a lot of published complaints from people saying it made too much noise or vibrated too much. we had that problem at first too. But you know what we did? You'll never guess - we read the Owner's Manual! After following suggestions from Whirlpool, (securing a 3/4 inch piece of plywood under the machine) the vibrations are all gone. Our water usage is down, our electric is down and our clothes are the cleanest we've ever had! Thanks to Whirlpool and ABT for their excellent [...] service - You both have customers for life!

I'd read mixed reviews about this washer, but I was convinced to try it (with an extended warranty) because it fit in the limited space provided in a high rise, and reportedly was energy efficient and quiet. I've found it to be quite impressive, although I did have to adjust to selecting water temperature by fabric type rather than "hot, warm or cold". I was really sold when a recent travel emergency forced me to wash clothes around midnight. I didn't hear a peep from the washer or my neighbors, who place a very high value on quiet nights and won't hesitate to report a troublesome unit to the doormen or the management office. Woo Hoo!

This compact washer is a great size for a single person; it would be too small for a family. It seems that the wash cycle is longer than my last washer, but not by much. It's very quiet; it does vibrate when spinning, but not more than any other washer I've used. I trust that I'll be happy with reliability given Whirlpool's reputation.

The machine vibtrates like crazy during regular color wash cycle when mounted on the recommended pedestal and set on a leveled vinyl wood flooring. We will have to have a Whirpool specialist come into our house to adjust the unit so that it stops dancing around and destroying the floor. Also we noticed that it distributes the load unevenly during the spin time which further adds on to vibrations. That's my only complaint so far, since we have had it installed not so long ago.

We went from a top loader to this front loader and we love it. It cleans so much better and has a larger capacity than our old one. I really like the different options that are available: Delicate, heavy, normal and quick wash.
