The design of BeoLab 7-1 and the choice of materials used in its construction emphasize the importance Bang & Olufsen attaches to the sound performance as part of the complete viewing experience. Seen from the side, the profile of BeoLab 7-1 is trumpet-formed, accentuating the power inside. To maximize performance without compromising the design, the big 4 inch bass units are mounted underneath the loudspeaker.

ICEpower is a Bang & Olufsen patented amplifier which combines high efficiency and low energy consumption with excellent sound quality and has had a significant impact on loudspeaker designs all over the world. BeoLab 7-1 is a three-way bass reflex stereo loudspeaker, and has no less than six digital ICEpower amplifier units, one for each driver unit.
Adaptive Bass Linearisation (ABL) is a Bang & Olufsen patented circuit that provides protection of the woofer against any mechanical damage. The sound pressure of the speaker is automatically reduced if the limit of the system is close. As it is combined with an advanced thermal protection circuit guarding against overheating and burn-out, BeoLab 7-1 is an extremely robust loudspeaker.
