The rechargable Sony batteries that came with the Sony DSC-P93 finally gave out about a month ago (they lasted 2 and 1/2 years). The key symtom the digital camera showed is when it is powered up and the lens comes out it then goes dead (no display, no operation, no nothing). I thought the camera was dead and was ready to send it in for repair before I found out Sony would charge $180 for repair. Just for kicks I tried some AA batteries to see if anything would happen. Sure enough, it worked just fine, but they don't last long.

These new rechargable batteries seem to carry a charge longer, but it may be because the old batteries were starting to go and could not hold a charge like new batteries. So far so good - happy customer at this point.
