I used to buy bottled water and now I just drink the tap water as it flows through this filter and out of the frig. I drink a gallon a day so water is very important to me. I like that it's better for the environment too, no wasteful plastic bottles. I am not super-picky about water taste but this is definitely far superior to what flows from the tap. Plus, it is chilled when it comes out. It's good for 6 months and I bought from ABT because it was by far the cheapest retailer and with free shipping its a no-brainer. I hope they stay in business so I can continue to order from them.

This filter works - the problem is that the stream of water slows from the start of a new filter until the stream becomes a trickle. I buy this filter because I have to. My real reason for submitting this review is to compliment ABT on its excellent customer service. In a previous review, I mentioned that the packaging of the filter was damaged. I was contacted immediately by ABT and offered a replacement. Kudos for caring about customers. I would buy from ABT again because they care about the products they sell.

Works great--this was a replacement of the same filter so I already had the necessary adaptor. Easy install. I use it for longer than 6 months but my drinking water doesn't taste bad out of the tap.

I am using this filter in my Maytag refrigerator, and it is great to use most of the case. However, if you want to use it for drinking water, it is OK. the water doesn't have any bad taste, but also eliminate crispness of the water. The water taste like nothing and little boring. I am using this for coffee and ice, and using bottled water for drinking.

I have the GE Spectra two door refrigerator and I love the filter. The water tastes wonderful and makes great coffee. It lasts about 5 months. Price of filter is not cheap but ABT has the lowest price on the internet. I wish they would make the filter in the future to last somewhat longer, say maybe 8 months before it has to be changed.

Easy to install. Just make sure that after you install this filter that you run the water through the dispenser for a good 5 minutes. I didn't and over night the lines on the freezer door froze and I had to defrost my fridge twice before it started working again. This is a known issue with GE but they refuse to acknowledge it. I will never buy another GE fridge again. Too many issues with this one.

The filter lasts longer than the 6 months they recommend on my GE fridge. However I go by the fridge light which suggest it goes by gallons filtered rather than by months passed. This I guess is the best way to tell if the filter is ready for changing instead of just every 6 months. The filter gives out great tasting water (no taste that is) and I haven't had any clog up yet.

It works great and is much more cost-effective than buying Brita filters. It is easy to install and after going through 5-6 filters, I have yet to have any problems.

I was skeptical and I buy a ton of bottled water, but this product works very well. I only wanted it so our ice cubes would taste better, but we use it for drinking water from the fridge dispenser. This filter was easy to install. The old filter just twists off and in my case no there was no spillage or drips. The replacement twists back on and after running a couple of gallons through it, the water tastes great. Our tap water is practically undrinkable because of a nasty chlorine taste. This filter saves on bottled water and resolves the recycling issue with hundreds of plastic bottles.

Worked perfectly in our Monogram fridge

Our Monogram came with the older filter (for the icemaker) and this replaced it just fine; very simple to do. This newer filter is a little smaller and takes up a bit less space in the fridge, doesn't make much of a difference practically but it is nice.

Cons:	Costly to replace often

Best Uses:	We only have icemaker

MWF replaces GWF - great flow rate

I replaced the GWF filter that originally came with my GE appliance. The time it takes to fill my glass is cut in half. I don't know if that is due to having a new filter, or if the MWF just filters faster. Either way, if you look at what the MWF filters out that the GWF did not filter out, you'll be happy to upgrade to the MWF.

The water from my fridge equals any bottled water. It's delicious just for drinking alone and is great for tea and coffee. Makes a huge difference in the taste of anything you make with tap water.

Great Filter

I use it in conjunction with my whole house filter (the whole house filter does a very good job in removing sediments and most of the chlorine taste from the water) and the overall resulting water tastes better than any bottle water I've tried.

it was very quick and easy to install. drinkable filtered water in seconds. it also lasts a long time which is good because these things are expensive.

A Great replacement filter.

This unit replaces the older GWF type filter with equivalent filtration, if not better. The one thing I did notice is that the water flows more freely then the older type. Not sure if the other was getting plugged or not but it was a noticeable difference.
