The installation manual leaves out a lot of important information, especially when it comes to how to make the unit/grill look right to the outside world. The unit we put in our bedroom is making noises all night.

I bought this unit to replace a 6 year old Friedrich Wallmaster of the same size (8K BTU). The main reason for still buying a Friedrich is because I already have Friedrich sleeves installed. In the past 20 years I have been using Friedrich airconditioners, they've been making their units cheaper and cheaper. This unit has NO discreet controls to turn the unit on and off. Because it has a remote control, they use all momentary contacts under a plastic membrane. Although other electronic units use this type of control (such as microwave ovens), the control unit mounted on this Friedrich airconditioner is so cheaply made that the power button didn't work right out of the box. Rather than deal with Friedrich (since they won't just let me send them the part for replacement), I'll just use the remote control unit to turn it on. Since I buy new airconditioners, on average, every couple of years, my next airconditioners certainly won't be Friedrich.

I shopped for a product that would fit the opening in the wall. Truthfully, this was the one that fit. I'm pleasantly surprised that it is so quiet and seems like a very good product.

great a/c and great price, couldn't do any better in stores or on internet! Saved 200-300 each unit purchased over other recommended websites, couldn't believe price. They are also commercial grade. Work like a dream and so quiet. Money well spent.

Installed in my bedroom, it's quiet and it works great. I can program it to turn on at 11 pm and turn off at 1 am.

The unit was a replacement for an old discontinued Fedders unit. It fit right into the old Fedders thru the wall sleeve as advertised. The unit is very stylish and works as advertised. It could be a little bit quieter but this is a very minor issue. It's definitely not loud to the point of being unbearable. So far I'm very satisified with my purchase.
