Inferior cleaning and awkward loading

BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[...] since Maytag was highly rated in Consumer Reports, I didn't look around and I was sorry. I have two comments that I wish I had read when I was reading reviews: 1. Do not underestimate how difficult it will be to get used to a new dish loading configuration and 2. Do not be put off by a silverware rack in the door. We previously had a Kenmore/Whirlpool and except for being noisy, it was perfect - easy to load and dishes came out spotless all the time. This dishwasher did not hold nearly as much, loading was awkward and nearly half my dishes needed to be rewashed when they came out. The only good things I can say is that it was very quiet. I sent it back and selected one model up from the Whirlpool I previously had, and I am now very happy and my dishes come out perfectly.

Cons:	Doesn't Clean Thoroughly, Awkward Loading
Pros:	Easy To Install, Energy Efficient, Simple Controls, Quiet

So far, It's a Good Product

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

This is our first Dishwasher in a fully remodeled kitchen with all Maytag Appliances. We've had the dishwasher for more than a year and have had no problems. We use it everyday and it works perfectly. We have noticed some noise from the machine, but I believe it's just normal operating noise(I've had nothing to compare it with). Based on advice from friends we did purchase an extended warrentty on the machine; but have not needed to use it. For the money we paid, it's a good dishwasher.

Pros:	Multiple Settings, Energy Efficient, Large Capacity, Easy To Load
Cons:	Noisy
Best Uses:	Pots and Pans, General Purpose, Larger Kitchens, Delicate Items, Smaller Kitchens

Does the job perfectly for our needs

We use this in an office and with multiple users always in a hurry and this is great for an office. The residue left on dishware does not redeposit itself on the topside of glasses and mugs. The normal cycle is powerful enough to clean normal dried food on dishes. The button controls are simple, too. A child could use this without breaking it or the silverware basket which is in one strong piece.

Simple and effective, Quiet, Normal cycle cleans crud, Easy To Load, No moving parts on basket, Great for multiple users, Large Capacity, Multiple Settings

Great product for the money

I use the dishwasher on a daily basis. Unlike my old dishwasher, this one is quiet, doesn't take too long, and does an excellent job cleaning my dishes. I find the top rack layout a little strange, which took some getting used to, but all in all it's a great dishwasher.

A good beginning

This is my 3rd dishwasher in 18 years and the least expensive. I had a Maytag stove that held up well for 17 years and I hope this dishwasher is as good. I wash dishes almost half as often because of the capacity, yet it's not quite wide enough to fill out the old space. Controls are easy, overall noise is low and dishes are CLEAN! I hope I'm this happy 5 years from now.

Noisy, but good.

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

This dishwasher replaced my highly recommended Whirlpool dishwasher. The Whirlpool only lasted one year and 4 months! Then the motor burned out. HOWEVER, this Maytag model is an adequate dishwasher. It is a bit loud, but I don't mind, as I run it when the kids are asleep. It cleans well and after a period of adjustment, I don't mind the racks. It fits all of my dishes and there are a lot, as I don't use throw away items. I usually only run it once a day. After my experience with the Whirlpool, I purchased the extended warranty, but I am hoping I don't have to use it. I have been happy with this purchase SO FAR. The cleaning cycle is about 1 hour with about 30 minutes of drying time, which I don't use. I just open it up. P.S. I swore never to purchase another Whirlpool, but you would be surprised how many other names Whirlpool owns. Maytag is owned by Whirlpool.

Replaced my 20 year old Maytag that finally gave out. Thrilled with the way it cleans my teenager's dishs that he "finds" in his room after cleaning. Dried up, nasty dish cleaned up great.Excellent install & service from [...].Looking forward to another 20 years.
