AccuDry System: with our unique AccuDry System, air is pulled in from the front of the dehumidifier where moisture in the air can be sensed before it is removed, not like the competitive brands which sense the moisture content after dehumidification.This allows the dehumidifier to cycle on and off more regularly, providing reliable moisture control. Also, the AccuDry system prevents warm air from blowing directly into the room.
Automatic De-Icer: Basements are typically the coolest location in the house, especially near the floor. Due to the cool air here, all dehumidifiers tend to form ice on the coils which prevents moisture from being removed from the unit. To keep your dehumidifier running, some of our models come equipped with a deicer. This deicer senses when the coil is about to form ice and turns the compressor off. Once the coil temperature increases enough, the deicer allows the system to turn back on and begin removing moisture again.
2-Speed Fan
Bucket Full Indicator Light: Our smart dehumidifiers know when they are full. The Bucket Full Light tells you when it is time to empty the bucket and delays operation until you empty it.
Adjustable Humidistat: The Adjustable Humidistat allows you to choose the dryness of the room for your family's comfort from normal to dry. The dehumidifier will cycle on and off to maintain your selected level of dryness and comfort.
Modern Rounded Styling: With more and more consumers moving their family rooms to the basement, the unique rounded styling and neutral color allow the Whirlpool� dehumidifier to blend into your extended living space.
Direct Drain Hose Connection: No more having to run downstairs to empty the dehumidifier bucket. The direct drain hose connection allows you to set up the dehumidifier and forget about it. This connector works with any garden hose to drain the bucket automatically into a sump or floor drain.

Wonderful Product!

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Have used for 6 months and find it works perfectly! Takes excess humidity out of open kitchen/living room area and is so quiet you forget it's even there. We use the collected water for indoor plants.

A real workhorse

I've only had this unit for a month, but I am very pleased. It is a very powerful dehumidifier and has proven very effective. I bought one hoping to move it around my house as needed, but this unit is a bit too big to move very easily up and down stairs. However, where it sits, it works great.

Best Thing in Basement - Great Product!!

I searched high and low for a reasonably priced, effective dehumidifier specifically for my musty basement. This product exceeded my expectations! I run the product 24/7 on the low setting between "dry" and "dryer" and I can't believe how humid my basement truly was since the water pan is full daily. The basement no longer has the musty smell - I only wish I had ordered this sooner!! While the product runs rather loudly, it is actually soothing at night as it helps me sleep, so it is an added bonus for this happy customer.

I had one of these before which lasted ten years.. it probably just ran out of freon. but it was VERY heavy. This new one is much lighter, and seems to work every bit as efficiently, if not more so.

First Time Buyer

Excellent drying machine!

I have a basement that has had very damp carpets and a wet chill in the air; this machine did a fast, excellent job is drying out the carpet within a couple days. The musty odor in the furniture and in the air has disappeared too! Highly recommended dehumidifier! (as a bonus, its even made in the USA).

The unit was quite easy to assemble and to get up & running. I read other reviews containing claims of loud operation and I agree. I was a little suprised at the noise this thing makes...for comparison this is definately louder than an ordinary refrigerator in operation. After three days of continuous operation, as the instructions suggest, the air in my basement was much drier.

Only had it a week but so far very satisfied, basement smells and feels dryer. It works great, easy to use. As far as noise, is a bit loud but on mine a lot of the noise was just the bucket vibrating, a piece of foam helped.

Surprisingly effective

It works well. It dehumidifies quickly however it is very loud, louder than any other unit I had before. It works well in our damp basement so the noise is not a problem. Good unit for the price. Would rather buy a loud Whirlpool than a cheaper "no name" product.

The de-humidifier work extrememly well during the hot humid Summers. I replaced a unit that was almost twenty years old and thought for sure what I bought would be a lot quieter. The noise is my only objection to the product. I like the water full light, thermostat and de-ice features.

Product is easy to use. However is noisy and the pipe nozzle to attach the external hose is small in length. As a result the external hose does not fit flush and leads to water drip.
