Advanced YST
Advanced Yamaha Active Servo Technology (Advanced YST) is a unique system in which the speaker and amplifier work together to cancel out impedance so the speaker unit has a perfectly linear motion. Advanced YST helps to ensure the highest levels of sound pressure and overall performance.

QD-Bass Technology
QD-Bass (Quatre Dispersion Bass) technology uses down-firing drivers with square, pyramid-shaped reflective plates to radiate the sound efficiently in four horizontal directions. The reflective plates negate any effects caused by the floor surface and reduce resonance between sound waves reflected from the floor and the unit.

Hooked up to my Mitsubishi LCD and it goes well with the Yamaha sound bar. The only thing negative I can think about this subwoofer is that it doesnt have an "auto" mode so I wouldnt have to keep turning it on and off.

This has helped out my system tremendously! It brings in sounds and vibrations that I did not know existed. The size of the system is great. You can pretty much put it in a small area and get great results. I waited way too long to get this Sub Woofer. Very happy with the results.

I previously had a powered Yamaha sub that was about 12 years old and started experiencing some cut-out (obviously in the circuitry) and didn't want to pay out on such an older unit. I was quite pleased with it and this one is no disappointment. This unit is sleek and modest in size but huge in sound. It is visually appealing and hard to believe such good range is generated from a unit that looks like this one. Yamaha has built a reputation for great sound clarity and this unit supports and carries on this reputation. You'd be hard pressed to find a better unit.

I have a home theater with a Polk sub woofer. The Yamaha was added for a second surround sound in the upstairs family room. It is great sound for a good price. Easy to install and operate.

Easy to set up and provides excellent base in a medium size room. The compact design is great as it allows the home theater system to be located almost anywhere in the room.

If you get the Yamaha YSP 800BL, Digital Sound projection Home Theatre system, this subwoofer is a must! It makes the whole system sound twice as good. Don't get the older model yamaha subwoofer, that is 100 watts. This one is specifically designed for the YSP 800BL and it has a special connection for it. This is an addition that you will be very pleased with and not regret in anyway. The sound is fantastic! I also like the small footprint of the whole system. It is super easy to hook up.
