How Things Work:

Electronic Charcoal Filter Indicator
An internal counter registers how often you turn the coffee maker on. It assumes that it makes a pot of coffee each time the machine is turned on. After 60 pots of coffee the green indicator light starts blinking. Replace the charcoal filter and push and hold the filter button until the green light stops blinking and stays illuminated. TIP: Once the charcoal filter is wet, certain cleaning agents will diminish over time. Replace the charcoal filter at least every six weeks or when the indicator light blinks, whichever comes first. If you don�t use the charcoal system, push the filter button and the green light will turn off.

The carafe keeps the coffee hot for a long time and the coffee stays fresh tasting. The filter, although not required, improves taste greatly over other coffee makers I have used. Read the directions regarding how much coffee to use.

A step up from Cuisinart

We use this everyday. I happen to be a big fan of Starbuck's brewed coffee (bought at the store) and I try to use the Starbuck's beans at home when they're fresh. I have yet to find a home coffee brewer that will reproduce what they serve there. I think getting the temp up to just past 200 F. is key. I'm not sure if this one gets up there. The chrome is beautiful. Quality/durability seems great. If the pointer on the lid is lined up perfectly, there are no drips when pouring like the Cuisinart Grind & Brew that I had prior. Also the coffee tastes a grade up from Cuisinart. The only annoying thing is that you CAN pour too much water in the res. This would definitely overflow if accidently filled past the max. For those groggy in the morning, this might be an issue. The gauge is on the right side of the machine and is hard to read if you're using your right hand to fill the res. I know this sounds picky, and I still recommend the machine. But you will notice this if you use it daily.

This item replaces my other Capresso maker which I had for 6 years. I love how coffee is made with these makers because they make your cup of Java worth while drinking to the last drop. Enjoy!

This Capresso coffee maker in combination with the Capresso burr grinder brews the best drip coffee I've ever tasted. It seems to brew at the perfect temperature and the carafe keeps it in good condition for hours. The unit is compact, looks good, and is easy to use. I purchased one for use in our small office and liked it so much, that I purchased another one for my home. If you appreciate good coffee, this is a great unit that's worth the price.

I would definitely purchase again.

Very good coffeemaker. My only problem is you have to unscrew the top of the pot to pour your coffee and it still does not pour very well. It is also fairly noisy when brewing. On the positive side, it makes a great cup of coffee and stays hot and fresh for several hours.

This coffee pot is the best. The last coffee maker I had had all the bells and whistles but was hard to clean and bulky. The Capresso looks chic, makes an excellent tasting coffee, is easy to clean and use.
