The instructions are very clear for a novice baker like myself. I am very happy to have this breadmaker at home as my son is gluten sensitive and the cost of buying insipid, boring breads at the specialty grocers was spiraling out of control. I am baking wonderful breads that you would never know are gluten free! Just be sure to buy quality flour and ingredients, and live healthy and happy!

It's just okay.
Reviewed by Kate (Avid Cook) from Lincoln Square, Chicago on Aug 25, 2010
BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
I bought this item for the gluten free feature and for the whole wheat feature. While the machine works fine, I found the bread it produces using the recipes that come with the machine just average. No different than store-bought. The manufacturer does not recommend using other bread recipes. I tried a store-bought 1 1/2 pound gluten-free bread mix, and it flowed right over the top of the pan during baking. What a mess! Also the shape of the pan means you get gi-normous slices of bread when you go for a 2-lb loaf. If the pan was a bit longer and thinner, it would be better. Still, I've probably made 20 loaves of bread in the thing, and it is very reliable, but the bread recipes suggested aren't spectacular. While I'm guessing it might be good for mixing up a bread dough, and then taking it out to bake it, I'm going back to using my trusty Kitchenaid mixer and my oven.
Best Uses: Dough
Pros: Easy To Clean, Consistency
Cons: Odd loaf sizes, Lacks Variety, Recipe limitations

Pan popped out of clips
Reviewed by Lisa (Avid Cook) from Oviedo, FL on May 06, 2009

BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
Having used breadmakers for years, my first whole grain attempt (using their recipe) caused the pan to continually pop out of the clips. I tried bending the clips as people have suggested, but to no avail. The machine stayed locked in for a while, but then popped out again. Maybe my machine was just a lemon. You could clearly see that the clips did not line up with the sides of the pan where they should clamp down.
