Auto Clock Set also provides on-screen displays of each channel’s call letters and ID.

Jackpacks

  • ColorStream Pro® Component Video Output
ColorStream Pro® progressive scan provides a non-interlaced component video DVD/TV connection that allows DVD-Video to reach its maximum picture quality potential. Every DVD-Video disc is mastered in MPEG-2 progressive scan (480P). By preserving DVD's progressive scan image, the ColorStream PRO connection provides a new dimension in total picture quality, delivering a more film-like, three-dimensional image. The progressive scan image is flicker-free, with virtually no visible NTSC line structure or motion artifacts, and offers better resolution than standard interlaced images.
    • Benefit: These outputs allow the video signal to be sent from the DVD player to a component video equipped interlaced or progressive scan TV. When this connection is utilized with today's HD-compatible sets, typical NTSC artifacts-like video noise, dot crawl, and flicker-are virtually eliminated, resulting in a low-noise, highly detailed picture with unequaled color purity.
  • Coaxial Digital Audio Output
  • Front Panel A/V Inputs
Front A/V Inputs, found on all TV/ VCRs in Toshiba‘s 2000 lineup, are "camcorder friendly" components designed for transferring and editing film, putting home movies onto VHS tape, and plugging in a satellite receiver or a video game player. This provides maximum versatility and convenience, allowing you to plug in without moving the unit away from the wall.
    • Benefit: For easy connection of video games or a camcorder.

Benefits:

Video

  • Digital Cinema Progressive (3:2 Pulldown)
    • Benefit: Delivers the smoothest, most film-like images to any progressive scan television, such as an HD-compatible one, and ensures maximum resolution.
  • JPEG Viewer
    • Benefit: Enables the display of digital photographs captured in the JPEG format. Simply load the CD with your favorite photos and create custom slide shows with a few simple clicks of the player's remote control.

Audio

  • WMA & MP3 Playback
    • Benefit: Play recordable Compact Discs (CD-R & CD-RW) with music stored in either the Windows Mediaâ„¢ Audio or MP3 file formats can be enjoyed.
  • Virtual Surround Sound
    • Benefit: Provides a simulated surround sound effect when using two stereo speakers. Convenient when playing DVD films with home theaters not equipped with multi-channel playback compatibility.

Convenience

  • Commercial Skip
    • Benefit: After a program has been recorded, pressing the SKIP button once during playback will automatically advance the tape 30-seconds forward bypassing recorded commercials. Pressing the skip button on the remote again will advance the recorded tape for another 30-seconds for a total of 60-seconds (30 sec x 6 Maximum).
  • Auto Clock Set
    • Definition: This feature ensures that your VCR never blinks "12:00" again. A special data stream in your local broadcast source (where available) automatically sets the clock display and keeps it accurate—even when time changes to daylight saving and back. Auto Clock Set also provides on-screen displays of each channel’s call letters and ID.

  • Front Panel A/V Inputs
    • Benefit: For easy connection of video games or a camcorder.

Toshiba never disappoints!

I bought this product specifically for my "techno challenged" husband. One less remote for him to deal with. I love Toshiba products & this one is no exception. Easy to use, hook up, and enjoy. I'm no "techo guru" myself, but I had no problem understanding the manual or making all the correct connections. I already own a Toshiba VCR and a Toshiba DVD player(several years old and not a single problem with either of them}. The new remote control is set up differently than my older ones, so it's taking a little getting used to. Great quality recording of VHS tapes and DVDs. I own over 1,000 VHS tapes and am in the process of transferring them over to DVD. Overall, I am very happy with my new toy and looking forward to many years of use and enjoyment.
