Sturdy and well made, it opens cans without hesitation. No need to make several attempts to open a large or heavy can, it has done all of them quickly. I am pleased with the metal construction as many other brands have resorted to flimsy plastic for some parts. While I keep this stored in a cabinet when not being used it is attractive enough that it could be proudly displayed on the countertop. Definitely worth the price.

Watch out - no replacement parts .....?

Best looking can opener out there. Called Cuisinart and they told me the black plastic piece that I have read about breaking (including my own) is not a serviceable replacement part. Are you kidding? You have to ship it back and pay for return shipping for a 5 second part replacement that will probably break in another month. Wow, what a rip off. Will not buy another can opener without looking at the hardware in advance again. [$]down the drain. I am not going to pay $20-100 dollars in shipping costs to keep it running.

After a year of infrequent use, the plastic portion of the opener lever broke. This is the main item to activate the motor and it is the only piece of plastic on the opner. Also, there are no replacement parts available.

This is the worst can opener I have ever owned. Works on about every third can. Very hard to get it to start and continue around a can lid, without manual intervention at least two times. Its a Piece.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Had just over 3 years. Opened hardly 3 cans a week, and the insert that retains the lever inside that is made from plastic, broke. The upsetting thing about that, there are no spare parts available to repair. This was my first, and now last Cuisinart product I will ever buy.

This can opener lasted a little over 1 year. Needless to say, I'm disappointed with this product. I've had other brands last for years. The opener for this one just quit operating properly. It kept stopping every 1-2 sec and no longer opened cans, skipping over the lid and I don't open a lot of cans!
